: Acquiring a support group before launching your blog

I had mentioned in another post that I have plans of puttingup a blog of my pets. It’s not really for the money but only for expression.
However, I have this idea that if you have a support group then your blog can
grow faster. Take the case of my planned blog. I am a member of one
organization of pet lovers although I don’t know how big is the membership.
Maybe I can join all other pet owner/lover organizations so when I launch my
blog, I would have instant followers. And by the way, most organizations now
have their website or forum and surely they have their Facebook Page as well.
That means it is easier to promote my blog. May I hear your opinion on this?

yea, you're on track. You can have a support system on ground before going ahead to launch a blog, this way you would have gathered enough advice and good suggestions. You can open a fanpage for the pet to get reader on Facebook, then have a what'sapp group for discussions and a page for your pet on Instagram. These would enable you have enough traffic for your blog when you kick-start it.

That sounds like exactly the way to go Corzhens. You have the right idea and this will ensure that once your blog is up and running, you will quite ''instantly'' have some traffic and readers. I have done the same thing myself by joining different Facebook groups that operate in a niche that was specific to my blog... it's just very smart. People in those groups or organizations are genuinely interested in the topic and will visit your website. Great thinking : Acquiring a support group before launching your blog

This is the best thing to do and I am sure it will allow you to get followers. Furthermore, those followers will be those who have a liking for animals so you can be sure that whatever they comment on your blogs will be genuine. I will also request you to open a Facebook page where you can share a bit about your blog. You can tell your friends to share your Facebook page with others on Facebook. This is what actually helped me to grow my Facebook page. I hope that you are successful.

I think yes, joining like groups and posting on like pages will be a good way to get support. It is simply one of the ways you can find the sort of support and instant readership for your blog you are looking for. Many people are looking for that sort of thing when they are getting a blog and it can be one of the options that you might need to grow your blog quickly.

That is what many bloggers do when they have intentions to monetize their blog. Otherwise, why bother if you only want the blog as an outlet for self-expression? Take mommy bloggers, for example. There are organized groups for mommy bloggers with active members and they post back links on the comment section of their fellow bloggers along with their comment. It's mutually beneficial as the owner of the blog herself can post on the other members' blog with a back link. They also follow each other on social media.

I have seen that some of the facebook groups can be good option for getting initial readers. You can see that most of them do get traffic this way. I personally try to get as many people as possible in the comments. And this way you can have some short burst of initial traffic. This can be good for the google initially. And from there you have to try harder for the other methods for traffic.

Yes, that is indeed a very good idea. You see even businesses before they start their businesses, the y have already identified a niche of who their clients will be. Not because you have a cheap price, but the competitors are far from their place which is a big inconvenience for them.

Most people usually go for convenience in shopping, so the same goes with your blog. Your dog lover organization is by itself your niche to your blog.

It's a great idea! especially because you can find so many activists on animals rights online, also a lot of pet lovers, especially in facebook, so I guess you could just join all those pages and start with it... You are going to have almost instant traffic, if you know how to do it.

Yes that's a good point. I didn't even thought of it. I have learned that in Facebook and other places. There are too many activists. And those are doing lot of stuff around. As you can see having support group is one thing to consider on that part. So based on that I'd say having such support group definitely helps a lot.

PinkTurtle,
I didn't think of that--of course his idea for a pet or animal blog is a great one because of all of the animal lovers ALL OVER the world. It would seem to me that this kind of content has a huge existing audience that just needs to be tapped into. Like you said--instant traffic...

I agree with acquiring a support group before starting a blog point, It is wise to start a Facebook group or Twitter account or any other social media to start building an audience and sharing them some pieces of your articles make them more interested and want to follow you on your blog.

I think this is a great idea as well, and using social media to facilitate it is a great way to start. Writing a blog for personal pleasure is fine, but you might as well profit from it as well, especially if you have quality content, and so getting support from the onset is just smart.

Of course the profit is in the back of the mind of a blogger but what’s important is the mindset about satisfying the readers. When you write for the profit in terms of traffic vis-à-vis the monetized ads, you may fail in the quality test because there will surely be a lapse on the focus to your readers. By the way, promoting your blog in social media is easier said than done. You have to be creative and engaging to the people in your network.
