Google My Business - Messages Update

Google is continuing its marathon of updates with Googe My Business. After including a feature that allows business to start a free Google hosted websites directly from my business as well as updating the business posting features to all users, Google has come up with a new update for Google My Business: allowing users to send messages but also receive messages directly from Google My Business's dashboard. 

This is update is currently rolling out in the United States and I bet it will soon be a world wide feature after the US update is successfully completed.

Once you turn On the message with customers feature you will need to configure your phone number with Google Allo service: https://allo.google.com/ - the customers will actually use their own native messaging app. 
From what I understand you are also able to receive and respond to these messages via standard SMS

Overall I'm wondering how beneficial such a feature would be for a real business. Keep in mind that you will have to respond to these messages sent by potential clients as fast as possible if you plan to respond 24 hours after the question or message was submitted the potential buyer would have certainly moved on to a competitor. 

So, you will have to be available at any hour once you turn this feature on. Or you can assign somebody in your company to deal with this messages. I think this feature will grow very popular especially on local businesses where people may don't want to call but will certainly find easier the idea of writing a short message to you.

Obviously these tools are being first released for the small business... Posts, SMS etc. I assume that google will scale them if they work out.

Huge respect for Google for the nonstop and fast added features to everything the develop. I didn't know that they've added this because I am from Europe... a bit sad that it isn't available here yet, I'd love to test it out and see how effective it can truly be! It seems that Google is trying to show its utmost concern to the users of its products. It is a good way of establishing good rapport for the continuance of support from the present and also new users. Do you think that Google can monopolize the whole internet in the future if it beats Facebook and Twitter? Right now Amazon is the main competitor of Google and Youtube in Alexa rankings but Amazon is in a different genre.

Google Aloo should be available on desktop in a few weeks. Thinking at a large scale for businesses with 100+ locations, we need a platform to centralize all texts and Allo on desctop would faciliate that too.

I once said this.... In the end, we will only have Google and Facebook. It is only a matter of time. I do not know what will happen to Amazon but let's see!

I haven’t used such Google products yet but I have been studying the benefit that I will get from it. To be honest, I don’t want to just create an account because it is free or it is trending. With the update on messaging, it looks like another plus for the Google My Business users because they will have a direct connection to their clients.
