Ahh, coffee! I drink one to three cups of regular per morning and 1 cup of decaf. Any more than that and I get a headache. I typically only drink two cups of regular as three will sometimes give me a headache. I can drink as much decaf as I like but don't find any benefit of doing so, which is why I have only one decaf per morning (in between my first regular and second).

The amount (one to three) is dependent on when I get up. If I get up very early (5:30AM) I'll typically have two or three that morning. If I sleep in (6:30-7:30) I'll usually only have one or two.

Hey procoder,
I don't like coffee so I replace it with energy drinks instead. Red Bulls and such. I've been an "addict" for the past 10 years or so and I drink like 3 or 4 per day. I know it's not that healthy but I just feel like that I'm functioning better with them. However, it's usually not the first thing I drink in the morning like many would do with coffee. I prefer water when I wake up and about an hour later it's time for work and red bulls!

Best Regards,
hitmeasap

That's interesting! I do not drink that much coffee actually. 2 cups, maybe 3 a day at most. I prefer to keep a bottle of water next to me so as to have a sip every now and then. While working I want to have everything at hand so that I do not have to move from my desk. That is most important for me to be concentrated... and not too much light. I tend to shut the blinds as I prefer a dim room rather than a brightly lit one. Everybody has his preferences, but coffee is not that crucial to me.

Hi Procoder,
It depends. If I have more work to do, then I need to wake up early or sleep later; in that case, I drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee. Otherwise, I drink maximum 1 or even none sometimes. The best thing about being a freelancer is flexible hours so I can always sleep in so I don’t always get that tired. That however can only happen if I don’t have tight deadlines to meet. I try to avoid drinking coffee when it is possible. Sometimes, I drink tea instead of coffee too because it is heathier than coffee.

Very interesting question. As a outsource contractor I am working over 12 hours in a day and several times I need to take many foods either tea or coffee. I very much like coffee but I do not take regularly because of acidity problem. If I drink coffee my acidity go high. But I mostly prefer tea instead of coffee. Very close to my office has a tea stall and I take tea from there very often. And I mostly like to take green tea or red tea. And in a day overall I drink tea about 5-6 times. And mostly evening I drink tea must.
It is making me fresh to do hard task.
Thanks by Ajlancer

Ohhh good question How much coffee do you drink as a freelancer? I am coffee-holic even when i am not doing some job, but when i do my work, and specially when i am programming, i drink more coffee. Somehow i find it relaxing me and i can think better or calmer while doing it. Not sure if the coffee have something special, but it could be also in connection to your common daily needs of caffeine when you get used to it. Some people use energy drinks, which are mostly full of caffeine, but i always prefer nice cup of pure coffee, specially when it's freshly grounded, it have very special taste. I personally LOVE even that smell How much coffee do you drink as a freelancer?

I love coffee too and have at least two cups per day. I am addicted to coffee and absolutely need to have a cup of coffee in the morning. I can't start my day without having it. Then I have another cup of coffee at about 4 pm. After dinner I usually have some green tea.

I am not good at taking coffees while working, maybe it is because I have not had time to be doing so or probably because of the long-term effects of doing that. I always try to work on my natural energy and whenever I feel tired, I try to take a rest and continue when awake. I plan my life to be so to avoid a breakdown in the near future.

Sometimes I work late night and sometimes I begin my work early morning. When I am working late night, I will be working until 1 or 2 AM, and when I start my work early morning I would wake up at 3 in the morning and continue working until 8. I drink tea and coffee. Generally speaking, I drink three cups of coffee and three cups of tea.

To be honest, I am avoiding coffee because of the myth that coffee can make me nervous. I only drink coffee when I dine out with my sister, a sort of ritual or tradition. When I have a ton of work ahead of me, my succor is eating nuts with either soda or fruit juice. Coke can make me alert maybe because it has caffeine.

Now this is a great topic! I started drinking coffee when I was 12 I think and by 16 I was drinking 2-3 cups a day up until my college days. When I was working 9-5 my consumption doubled, I was drinking brewed coffee back then. Now that I'm a freelancer and I'm usually doing my work past midnight, I'm drinking about 5 cups of instant a day and that's a combination of hot and cold.
