How long do you wait before asking for a mutual cancellation?

There are a lot of really impatient buyers, asking for cancelation just minutes after an order starts. And, for me, that seems a little rushed. If you took the time to take out your credit card (or login to Paypal) and place an order, then you could at least wait awhile before demanding your money back.

Then again, I can see this situation from the buyer's point of view. Some sellers don't even bothers to respond on an order until a day or so later.

I'm just curious as to how long you wait (as a buyer) before you ask for mutual cancelation.

Is there a 'grace period' time during which you give the seller a chance to respond before you raise a support ticket about that issue or ask for mutual cancellation?

I usually choose services and seller carefully so i didn't have many troubles, but there was couple of times when i needed to ask for mutual cancelation. Well there is no minimum or maximum time, but i was always trying to negotiate with seller to get what i paid for and i waited when it's needed even couple of days because i would rather get what i need. But if there is no solution then i use mutual cancelation as last option and that's why we have this option to use at the end.

yeah, I have faced some buyers like that,i consider buyer should give atleast 24hrs for the seller to respond to the order created.& sellers are obliged to respond to buyer when they receive order.as customers needs to know if their order is under process.if no response by the seller by more than a day, the buyer can request mutual cancelation. however i would recommend buyers contacting the seller before placing order.if they wants their work urgently before they place their order.to avoid mutual cancelations and wait.

I normally do a lot of research before buying a service so I don’t ask for a cancelation until after the expected delivery date. A lot of the sellers I buy from seems to deliver the services late but that is understandable since I normally buy from the more popular and trusted sellers. I normally ask for an update if I fail to get my service within the expected period and give them a few chances before mutually cancelation. I would say I will give them 50% more time than the expected delivery period before I request for a cancelation; I only ever had to cancel 2 orders. Both times were mutual cancellations so I didn’t have to open a support ticket. I think as long as communication is good, then giving them more time for theur service is fine. As long as they reply to me when I ask questions, I am happy to give them more time.

As a seller, I haven’t actually experienced people who requested mutually cancelations. I try to reply to questions and requests as soon as possible and I think this decreases the chance of them requesting a cancelation.

I think that trust is an important element when buying a service online. Before buying it is recommended that one checks out the profile page of the seller so as to take a look at his or her reputation, as well as any reviews or recommendations posted by previous buyers. Hi Beverly you said very good question. Yes I have faced this situation many times. And it is really odd situation as seller point of view. Specially when I see some buyer making very quick decision for mutual cancelation without prior contact.
But I have some opinion for buyer to avoiding this activity as much as often. Most of the time buyer making this decision from there confusion or misunderstanding. I think every buyer before purchasing any service must to learn service description very carefully. If he does not understand everything what seller write in description, you should ask to seller regarding that exact issue by PM or in order section and discuss regarding issue and solve mutually. And if you have any confusion of deliver deadline, ask to seller. Hope you will get answer and you do not need to request for mutual cancelation.
Yes mutual cancelation very good feature for both buyer and seller. And both have right to cancel order anytime if they do not fill all requirements each other.

From buyer point of view I would like to say. You can go for mutual cancelation decision:

When you will face any unsatisfactory service you have purchase but misleading
Seller absent long time and do not come in online last some days or month. Even after contacting with seller he does not responsive
Seller pass deadline and even many more days and he does not explain why he is taking long time.
Then you can go for mutual cancelation decision. Despite of I want to say before making decision wait maximum days to reach seller and instant cancelation you can only use if you see, you have purchase wrong service by mistaken.

I usually check the delivery time whenever I order something. If it states 3 days, I'll accept that, place the order and awaits the seller's response to my order. If the seller fails to respond within 48 hours, when there's only 24 hours left before deadline, then I'll write them once gain. Just asking for a brief update. If they fail to respond to that update too and fails to deliver in time. Then I'll go with a cancellation right away. Not because I desperately needs the service to be delivered but because of their lack of responses. I cannot see any real reasons for not being able to respond to an order. That's just common sense and if sellers aren't even able to do that, then they're not worth my money either. However, if the sellers do reply and they're running a bit late with the delivery. Then I'm calm and let them do their thing. I accept a late delivery at any time, as long as they communicate properly. About a week late, then I'll have to reject, in case there haven't been any unforeseen circumstances for the seller.
