How long does it usually take to get on the first page on Google for competitive keywords?
It's impossible to know and you'd need to spend quite a bit of time and money. It 100% depends on the competitiveness of the keyword.

Sam is spot on. It is literally impossible to calculate. Every keyword has different competition and then of course there is your own website which plays a big role. If the on-page SEO is up to scratch then it will take even longer.
You are right that there is no specific period that you can estimate for your site to go up the ranks on page 1 for the keywords. Take note that the keywords of your web pages are also dependent on the keywords of your competitor sites. If they have better keywords than your site then your ranking goes down and vice versa if their keywords are worse than yours. That is they patience is needed when doing SEO work.
It all depends on just how much competition there is and the on-page and off-page SEO score of your website. If you don't have much quality content on your site and it's a fairly new site and you don't have many backlinks yet then it's going to take much longer. But if you have great on-page SEO and content and have some good high quality backlinks already then it wont take as long.
Its really not that easy to get on google Pr1 .It takes time.It will be easy to get in to high pr if u have low keyword. But its really uneasy to bring high competitive keyword to pr 1
it depends on the website
It depends on Quality of backlinks
Most of the discussions that I have read couldn’t predict the time or duration when the SEO methods done will take effect. In one discussion, it was said that it can take days or weeks or even months for the effect to take place. In other words, SEO is not an exact science when it comes to the time element. But what’s important is the assurance that what you are doing for SEO will take effect sooner or later. And it all boils down to the ranking that your link gets in the search list.
