I know that ranking is very important. I want to know how long it took your site to rank high. Did you do it organically, or did you happen to use blackhat methods?
Well I've had so many different websites and sometimes it's taken me a long time to get good rankings for it and a lot of hard work as well I might add. Other times though, I've been lucky and the site has started ranking high straight away. I think it all comes to down to research and picking the right domain name. That and a little bit of luck. But if you do some research first, you can often find a very good new domain name to go with and that can rank high straight away without much work needing to be done on it. It's rare but it does and can happen!

If you already have your website then picking the domain name is moot and academic unless you are willing to change your domain name. With regards to ranking I think it is the use of SEO methods to your site that will give it a boost with the search engines. I have read so many discussions on the SEO methods and I find the content as the best bet for a good ranking in search engines. Uploading regularly good contents will push the ranking upwards.
It usually takes me 2-3 months to rank on the first page. I don't really track much past the first page though.
It took me months and months to rank on a very competitive keyword but regular updates and building links continuously really is a big help.
Very much depends what you are trying to be on the first page for and how much competition there is.. If you are targeting a keyword that has near 0 competition it is possible to get to page one on google in less than a week..
he pageranks will take a while to show up in your toolbar. This doesn't mean that they don't have a pagerank in google yet, just that google isn't going to show you what they are yet. They update the pageranks in the toolbar every few months. They should be updating it within the next month or so.
Also watch the links your posting, they are walking a fine line to comment spam. Also note that they are not linked on this page, so you aren't getting any pagerank boost from posting them here.
It depends on the keyword and its competition and how much SEO do you deliver for the specific websites.
after atleast 3 months you will see if your ranking methods ar working
it totally depending upon keywords that how long it will take to reach top on Google.
Some time a week is enough and some time 2 months are also less.
i just started on 2 keywords 2 weeks ago both are new websites both keywords are medium Compt.
Right now 1 is on 22nd position and other on 7th position
Take at-least 45-60 days to rank any Keyword in Google.
it will take more then 50 days for sure.
As per the experience of people close to me, the ranking changes positively within 3 months but sometimes it takes longer than that. Take note that the number of websites are growing everyday and in your niche there may be a crowded competition for the search engine ranking. The change in ranking now may take longer than before. In some discussions, there was the advice to not expect the increased ranking because SEO work has no fixed schedule for the effect.
