I don't get it. What makes you think that website surfing would be harmful for your Page Rank? Page Rank is a measure of how many links are pointing to your site not how many people are surfing your site. You could have a million people a day surfing your site but if you don't have any links pointing to your site your Page Rank wont move an inch. Page Rank has now been officially disabled by Google anyway so that you cannot see what the PR of a website is. They're (Google) still using it internally and as a ranking factor, and PR does still flow, so you would want to still build only backlinks from high PR sites. But obviously you cannot see what the PR of a site is now so you have to use other things to determine if it's a link worth having or not. The site itself can tell you that, or you can use things like PA (Page Authority) or DA (Domain Authority) or even look at it's Alexa ranking to get an idea of that sites popularity in the Search Engines. But yes, that should answer your question in full and satisfactorily.

I think there is confusion in the mind of the creator of this discussion because surfing means visiting other websites and probably he thinks that visiting a website with little traffic will have an effect on the ranking of his site. Anyway the page rank is not anymore being used by Google and it is now just a decoration of sorts so we should not mind the page rank anymore.

No. It does not. As said, PR (PageRank) is a measure of how many links are pointing to your site. It has nothing to do with how much people are surfing your site. It's all about links not activity.

Website surfing is as relevant to PR as backlinks are for size of your computer screen.

Tell it like it is brother! Website surfing will have not effect on your ranking one bit. Whether that's you surfing other peoples sites or people surfing your site. If a lot of people are surfing your site it can help in some ways. Not just because you can monetize your site with ads or something and earn from that, but because it will boos and bolster your other metrics too. But no amount of people surfing it will increase the PR of your site.

Not at all. Surfing a website has never been a problem such as being banned or like that.

If you mean by website surfing is browsing the internet for new websites then it is simply surfing which is normal. I wonder why you had that notion of surfing being harmful to Google page rank. Perhaps you have been reading too much about page rank and some of the comments are not really valid and factual. Whenever I would read something new, I always validate it first in other discussions before I believe in it.
