Would you give up on SEO when you aren't seeing results at your expected time?

SEO is not something that starts paying immediately you go into the online work and even with the use of SEO specialist, it's still excepted to take at least a minimum of 6 months or more before you start seeing results.

In a situation where you expected at a particular time to start seeing results in your SEO involvement in your online business but it never showed up, would you give up immediately? How long can you wait more?

I've learned in my career to never expect anything to work the way you hope it would. Personally I would give myself a year to start seeing the results and even then maybe hold out a little longer. In the meantime, it's important to keep your day job and make sure you're really putting the maximum amount of effort into SEO. Also, remember that it takes between three to five years for a new business to start turning a profit and get out of the red.

I agree with you. Sometimes things don't go the way we planned it. So give your best and don't expect too much. Give some considerations especially to all those who have just started. The beginning of something is always the hardest.

Exactly, I think it's easier if you have a fallback plan too. SEO for me, at this point, is a side hustle aimed at turning into a real career but until that can happen, I'm using the money I make to pay off student loans and reach a point in my life where that side hustle can be the fulltime job I can concentrate on without destroying my entire life.

Have you ever heard of the quote coined for businesses that whatever you might be working with could actually take more than thrice the period you think and give to six times the effort.

I think it is always best to allocate time for business to grow. This will also allow yourself to know which strategies or techniques to apply to sustain in track. An observation and analysis plays a key factor to determine your venture status. We, all know that business is a risk and you must be ready to take it's risk.

I agree with you. Businesses improve over time. You should be patient with the progress. But, if you think that it's been years and you haven't seen any improvement yet, then you should think of better strategies.

True. It is not an overnight success. It takes much patience and hard work. But if you have done everything for a long time and still nothing, then, take a step back and examine everything. Trial and error is part of success.

Its all about your patience. In case you want to enhance your visibility thru excessive competitive keywords its takes the time three to four months, however a few keywords improved your visibility within a weeks only. So it is all rely on your competition. Search engine Optimization is a non-stop procedure you need to update it within a normal interval of time.

Precisely, that's why I disagree with the topic because it's saying that before you see any results, you have to wait for more than 6 months, which is not true. If you do on-site SEO you'll get results in a week or two.

SEO is just like any other investments. You have to be patient and do your part also. Do not rely much but always be ready to have a support like this one. This way you'll have higher chances of succeeding. It's hard to predict though but I think every investment is worth it once it is paying off. That's how business works. Sometimes it's slower than what you expected but don't lose hope.

But not that slow. I mean six months with no results is just so not true for real SEO. I think the degree of competence or expertise of the person hired should be questioned if there's no positive result however small in six months time.

I didn't give any specific time span though. I also said that it's "sometimes" not "all the time" slower than you expected. I'm just replying to her post of what to expect and not which means sometimes it does happen and you can avoid it or live with it. It's up to the person who hire such services if that's okay or not. If not, why continue getting the service?

The biggest thing I'm always reminded about with SEO is that it takes time. A lot of people seem to give up on it when they're not getting instantaneous results but that's a big part of the problem. I think you've just got to stick with it and keep persevering!

It does take time but if it's already more than six months with no positive results then your out of luck because you've been scammed. Normally small improvements can be seen in just weeks some in a month or two, but 6 months!!! That's ludicrous.

Well it depends really on how much do you really want it. If you really want it you will just keep on working. If you don't keep working the results will never show.

To pay for something that would take more than 6 months to see the results thereof is something I won't do because it's a clear indication of a scam.

Most experts will say that there is no time for one to say that SEO is working better or not. So, I still believe that we shouldn't expect it to start working at a particular time or not.

I agree. That's the nature of business because if not, every single freelancer or businessman who undergo SEO would be rich by now after less than six month. That is insane and many people will quit their regular job by now if they knew that there is an exact time for SEO to work.

Yes, I agree with you. It should be given time to prosper on it's own. It takes a lot of courage and determination to do well and stay on track. One must be open minded in the field of business. It's a risk and one should take it.

It's also scary and risky. 6 months is actually too long for me.

As long as I know, there is no particular time that one can say that they are expecting to start getting results from the optimization that they did. What is necessary is doing the things that will bring better results at the end of the day.

I don't think I would give up. I might consider looking at how I used SEO and whether the site could be improved in some way. What is hard to know is how long to wait to see any effects at all.

If I'm the one doing the SEO work then I'm confident that I'll see positive results in two weeks time. But if I'm not the one doing the SEO work then it's best first to scrutinize his credentials.

If you are aiming for something, giving up is not the answer. If you think SEO is too slow for you, it only saying something to you and that is to focus more patience. Though some business click right away but not all. SO its better that you take some time and wait. Patience is the only key of success.

All business take time to grow and SEO is not an exception. Patience is one thing that is essential in every aspect of a person's life. Giving up is not an option especially if you've already invested a lot of time and effort on it.

Search algorithms are updated frequently. SEO strategies that could get your good rankings might thusly be rendered obsolete and by the time you realize that you'd need to try something new which might also not work but even if this goes on indefinitely you shouldn't give up on SEO because you don't see the results. Some of the guidelines which Google for example says you need to follow compel you to create quality content all the time.

IMO I think you shouldn't create content with sole intent of getting good rankings in the search engine result pages. Focus more on creating the sort of content your site visitors will find valuable and search engines will reward you eventually.

That's a tough question, it honestly depends on the ongoing subject. I'm a stubborn person, so I'd probably try till the end. There's a thing of mine I personally keep trying for the past 2 years and still failing, although the logical thing would be to stop doing it, but no, I simply can't. NEVER GIVE UP! You'll enjoy the success after failing a lot of times.

Ideally, the growth is supposed to occur on an upwards trend up from the time that you start. So when you begin be conscious of making money but not to be financially free and ascend up the income tree.

SEO is hard to get concrete results from early on. Sometimes, you won't see any changes then all of a sudden, a major burst of upswing. Other times, it takes twice as long to see results as at first predicted. It's never possible to predict one-hundred percent.

I think that SEO is all about patience we cannot expect to earn from it immediately since it takes a lot of time to see the results and to make an earnings from it. We should examine all the factors in it and never assume too much so that we will not be disappoint whenever we are experiencing failures from it.

SEO is like unending grind and not something that ends after some success. One just have to continue with it as much as possible. That's what I have noticed so far. It can be harder to do that though. Considering how the SEO changes are being made in the google and people are being affecting with those changes. Results as long as change, SEO will continue to be there.

There is hardly any success that comes without commitment. Once you've set out on a particular course, stick with it until it pays off. Unless the work done wasn't the best and it's not yielding results because of poor execution. Otherwise, you should wait on for things to turn out right. You might just give up right when you are about to hit gold.

The SEO methods that I have been studying seem to be effective but only in terms of the desired traffic. With the period of effect there is no definite date like you can see the results in a week. That is one issue that SEO service providers have to deal with because it’s easy to explain but it’s hard to convince the client that SEO work has not fixed period for the results.

Getting traffic by SEO takes quite a while and some patience. In my opinion it takes as long as one year to see some impacting results. I think that you need to evaluate your efforts honestly. Why are you not getting results? Is it lack of knowledge, lack of an audience? I think SEO is a calculated risk after one year if it is not working out, it and you have tried everything under the sun, it maybe time to re-evaluate and change course, maybe try something else.
