Don't you just it hate when Your mind goes blank. WORDPRESS

So one minute you think "Wow what a cool idea" then when it comes to it you mind is like ""GONE"" total blank. I was in middle of creating my own theme for wordpress totally from scratch had few good ideas and then my mind goes blank I totally forgot what I was doing lol.

Anyone got any good tips to start off basic part of the Style.css for a theme I done a little . I got the title and description just struggling for it to keep hold of like the size , fonts and colours. It does not seem to be loading as When I try to preview the changes.

I've actually done this many times lol. I'll be working on a project and space out for a second and when I come back, I don't remember what I was doing. The main reason I forget what I was doing is because I didn't write anything down in order to reference where I'm going with a project. To counter this, I have a file on my laptop, nothing crazy just a .txt file, that has all of my ideas in it. I don't go over all of the ideas each day, I just write them down and expand on them over time Don

Some of my ideas in this file are simple a one sentence idea that reminds me of what I wanted to do while others are paragraphs of text that go over intricate parts of what I want to do with the idea. I guess you could do something like this to help you out with your next theme so that you don't run into the same problem again Don

As for the styling, I can't really help you because I'm not too big into web design or styling Don I actually wish I was so that I could do what you do, but I don't have any free time on my hands in order to start learning something new. I do want to learn design and programming, but the time invested in that is pretty vast and I think I will need to stream line my company a little more by hiring a few employees to do the work in order for me to get down and dirty with all the coding and breaking it along the way lmao Don

I really hope someone else can come in here and help you out more than I could. I didn't help much besides the writing down idea method that I use which keeps me on track when my mind starts to wander lol.

Yes, it definitely happens when our mind goes blank. Or we think of something and then side track and totally forget. That is why I always jot something down if I have an idea immediately because I am easily forgetful.

Haha, been there done that Don I do the same as simlymh - I always note down the ideas. Try to carry around a notepad or even your phone and if you get any brilliant ideas WRITE THEM DOWN! It saved me so many times. I can be quite forgetful and get easily distracted by other things.

If you are having a hard time recalling your idea, try to just sit down, close eyes and let your mind flow. It works sometimes. You can also look for inspiration in other people's website designs.

I think executing all the ideas is not an easy task. You may find that some of the time mind just goes blank and there seems to be no way out of it. I have found that WordPress has plenty of interesting things but executing takes a lot of time. Sometimes we have to just stay out of our own way. We can also let other people execute the idea. That way we don't end up having all that hate. That's for sure.

Well, i don't have an idea as I am not into creating wordpress themes. Though I can relate to having your mind go blank. I write as a side gig. We call it writers block in our part of the globe. You sometimes feel excited to write but as out your hand down, you just go numb, and with a strong repulsion.

This happens to me always, as I am a forgetful person. I always try to write down my ideas on paper, or computer as much as I can, so I can come back to them later. It always helps me when I write them down, as it makes things look much clearer, and I can fine-tune any problems easier when looking at what I have written too.

Haha, I can totally relate. I think this is mainly due to over tiredness in my case. Whenever I'm on the verge of falling asleep I'll have a bright idea and forget it the next moment.

Yes, going blank happens to me often. So when I remember or think of something I will jot it down immediately or I will forget ...

It happens to me all the time, that's why I have the "Sticky Notes" app ready on my computer in case a good idea pops up in my mind. I don't trust my brain anymore, I just write the ideas down in the app.

Use Evernote or a simple Excel spreadsheet to jot down your ideas. I have worked with both tools and they simply help me a lot.

I usually forget something easily, but with these tools things improve in my favor.

Ahah it happens! Don't blame yourself. When you have an idea, just grab a piece of paper and make a draft, when our mind goes blank you just try to remember where you placed the draft! Also, I would give a try and search on some subreddits, it's filled with long date professionals!

This happens to me quite often. On some days I really have good ideas and just want to keep on writing. On other days my mind goes blank and I can't think of anything good. I totally hate it when this happens. I have to think really hard. Nowadays whenever I have some ideas I just note them down and whenever I feel that I am short of ideas I just go and check this list.

It's normal to go blank after you start a good idea you just got and whenever that happens to me I just go back to where I got that idea from and I try to do the same things I was doing to try to recall, I end up remembering what it was or maybe it is due to the stresses all you need is some exercises and quick shower then come back to work you will feel your mind and more energy.

That is a bad case of mental lapse that I guess your mind is already experiencing over fatigue. Sometimes it happens to me but I have the presence of mind to take a respite when I feel that writer’s block is coming. It is just sad in your case that you were in the middle of a design that you have to start again from the beginning in order to continue. Try to develop the habit of taking a 5-minute rest every hour of your work.
