Yes I agree, I find WordPress much more professional for bloggering reasons. But Blogger is a bit more childs play and more for kids if you know what I mean as opposed to professional bloggers. Of course, there are some professional Blogspot blogs too but generally, most WordPress blogs look better and carry less risk.

Go with wordpress.org if you're serious. This is better over free blogger coz they can AX your blog at any time and not ever give reason why.

Yeah Blogger blogs are renown and infamous for that reason. Many blogs get pulled when they get too big. Especially the commercial ones. If they see that your blog is getting a lot of traffic they look into that because it's their bandwidth you're using and if it's for a commercial reason and you're profiteering from that they will pull the blog down and wont tell you about it until you discover it's happened. And it's happened many times before.

They both have their own pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages. Most people start off with a Blogspot blog and then move to WordPress or end up running both. Blogspot blogs are a part of Google so they have that going for them. But WordPress blogs are also very SEO friendly as well and come with a plethora of themes and plugins that you can install to add features and functionality to it. Blogspot blogs are also spammed more although these do get pulled down eventually. Where as WordPress blogs are a little more professional and more moderated by the WP team. Also a lot of people view WordPress blogs with a little more esteem than they do Blogspot blogs probably because of the aforementioned reasons. I'm not saying go with one only, they can both help and both have their own good sides and down sides. But start with Blogger first and then if you don't like it, try out WordPress. I run both of them and prefer to use WordPress because it's just much more clean cut that Blogger and it's easier to connect with other WordPress users using Gravatar where as Blogger don't provide that.

The only advantage blogger has over wordpress is availability of Adsense. Blogger is a google product so is Adsense. Therefore, if you have enough quality on your blogger blog, you will be accepted by adsense. Once accepted you can start earning. However, you cannot use adsense on wordpress, in fact you cannot use any network ads on wordpress. The only way you can earn on wordpress blog is through affiliate marketing. If monetization is not your concern, wordpress is a better platform.

A great majority of the comments that I had come across in other discussions points to WordPress as the better platform mainly because it is easy to use. To be honest, I have been blogging with Blogger and I have tried Wordpress with a lot of problems. In other words, I am not comfortable with Wordpress although I just probably need to practice in order to get used to it.
