What is link popularity and can i use it to increase my ranking on search engine?
If you are collecting links from low value site, it means your site doesn't have good link popularity. For link popularity, we should get links from authority sites like .gov & .edu site which would give you better SERP.
Are you sure you want to delete this post?
Actually links from .gov or .edu sites are very overrated. They don't give any more juice to your site than a high authority .com might do anyway. It's not about what tld's you get backlinks from, it's about how related they are to your site and the quality of them. Don't you agree?
Now I know that link popularity means you have posted your backlink on a popular site. That is one advice that I have read in several discussions that you should post your backlink on popular blogs or big forums only so that you can get quality backlinks which are also called popular link. Sometimes you tend to go on a posting spree that you forget to check if the site has a lot of traffic or not.
Yes as Chintan Described in above Answer to Increase Link Popularity it is must to get Backlink on High And Authority websites it always help you to Increase Popularity Links.
it Directly Affect your Traffic more your link getting popular more you can Earn !
Google is one search engine is very concerned about link popularity. In fact, this factor could be the most important. According to the analysis of Google, the more a website at the link, the content was better too. And more special again, Google can analyze the link where it is coming. Links from Yahoo or Open Directory would be more meaningful than the link from another website. So not only counted the number of links, but also its quality. By Google, the technology is called PageRank, which is a technology that can take into account how well the quality of a web page.
Do you work for Google? Because you've hit the nail right on the head! Of course, fast forward 4 years and PR is no longer something that's taken into consideration and can't be anyway because PR has been officially turned off and disabled for people to see. These days it's all about your PA, DA, CF & TF. If you're an SEO you'll know what these are!
In search engine optimization (SEO) terminology it is the term used to describe the value of a Web site, where the measurement is based on the quantity of quality Inbound links (also called backlinks) to your pages. Many search engines, including Google use link popularity in its algorithm when determining where your Web site is listed in its SERP.
That's great. Did you come up with that yourself or copy it from some where? Who am I kidding! There's 17 results showing for that. I can see why you've used it here though. It kind of answers the OP question perfectly. At least for us anyway!
This is another lesson for me on SEO methods. Link popularity seems to be important when you are spreading your website’s link because the website where you place your link matters. Where before I thought that a link is just a link, now I didn’t know that there is the so called quality link that can give your website better chances in terms of search visits. And now we have the link popularity. As they say in fiction stories, the plot thickens.
