What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?

Everyone that does freelancing is doing it for because of some particular or specific reason. Some people started freelancing after they were looking for ways to make money online. Some people started doing it because of something someone told them about it or perhaps they read an article in a newspaper/magazine about freelancing.

Some people may have literally been sitting there thinking "how can I make money in my spare time" or "how can I turn my hobbies or skills and experience into cash"? And then went from there..

Some people may have been doing something completely different like running a forum or a blog and then started doing something small which lead them to end up walking down the freelancer path until they started to realize what they are and went big from there.

That's sort of how it was for me. I used to run several forums on design and illustration after I was made a moderator for a popular forum and then started selling custom sig banners which I turned into a full service. That was many years ago though and since then I become a webmaster/blogger and started needing things for my site like SEO, backlinks, content etc. So I have learned about that over the past 10+ years of being online.

It wasn't easy to get hold of things like that back then! There was no SEOClerks, no such site. No Freelance.com, no Upwork. Nothing! And to get something like that you had to "know" people or do it yourself! So I'm self taught when it comes to SEO and SMO and freelancing.

I've been launching niche sites and ideas since then and flipping them! But that's been for as long but it's only really in the past 5+ years I've been working on SEOClerks as a freelancer. And it's been uphill ever since! What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?

But really it's only been in the last year or so that I've been doing quite well on here. I was recently made a Level X3 seller and I've seen an increase in sales because of it! But it hasn't exactly been "easy". It's taken blood, sweat and tears to get there, sort of. Just basically showing that if you're dedicated and work hard. You can get there!

But there are some much much bigger freelancers out there than me. Those that have been doing SEO and SMO for many years and I'm just a small fish in a big wide ocean compared to them. And some of them really inspire me and motivate me to carry on. To share their success.

So it's really interesting to me to hear how you got started in freelancing.
No matter what level you are at with it so far in your career.
If you're a new rookie or a long experienced whale. What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?
What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?

What about you though? How did you get into freelancing?

Did you think you was going to be the freelancer you are today?

Did you see yourself having as much success in freelancing as you first thought?

And one more question for you.

Where do you see yourself as a freelancer in 5 or even 10 years time. What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?

I started freelancing a couple of years ago, well more than a couple.. about 6 years ago. It was a time in which I didn't really want to get a part time job, so I decided to see if I could earn some money online. This was around the same time I started to learn how to program PHP scripts. I think this time is also a time that was very crucial in my online freelancing "career". It was a great play by me to learn how to code PHP because it was a skill that I could monetize and profit with.

Awesome Everett. That's what it's all about, finding your path that fate has laid for you. You just got to walk it! And you paint a picture of a path that many others that have gone before you in and made something amazing out of it in the programming industry. It all goes back to needing to eat and pay your bills basically but from that you can learn to be a programmer and make something out of your skills and talents. Whether it's just learning to fix peoples problems with their existing codes or creating new scripts and things yourself from that code. Do you do that sort of thing both fixing peoples PHP errors etc as well as create and design your own PHP scripts? If so what kinds of PHP scripts have you created that I or anyone as a freelancer would find useful? J/curious What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?

I'm kind of new, and I'm part time.

I started out on SEOclerks as a buyer, searching for freelancers to hire. Not long afterward, I realized that I could earn money by selling my own services. I pretty much just keep the funds I earn in my account and spend it all in SEOclerks on services that I need. It works out well for me, and I really enjoy it. Now I log in every day to see what's happening in Community Discussion and to check on my sales. Fun!

I think it's cool that there are so many full time freelancers here. Maybe someday I'll transition to that. For now, I enjoy my other job and stay very busy with that. Freelancing would be a great full time career, though. I'm glad to have this platform and support system for that, should I choose to dive in.

Awesome Bobjoe! Kinda new but a familiar face! Thanks for sharing your story. That's what's great about SEOClerks like that in that you can use it to earn money with, which you can then use to buy other things with that you can use to earn money with, which you can then use to buy other things to help you earn more money with and then so on and so on without even having to deposit a single penny! Of course you'll have to do the work first, unless you're selling instant downloads by the hundred everyday then you're well and truly laughing all the way to the bank! Yeah SEOClerks has some amazing freelancers that love the site as much as it loves them back! Let the love flow! LOL but me and you both buddy cheers and power to you Bobjoe!

Before starting i remember i was looking on google for some sites to sell softwares online, and i found many sites but i joined only on codeclerks , because i saw that was a site dedicated to softwares, after that discovered Seoclerks and this was the best thing happened to my life.

I started freelancing 3 years ago, and i've learned so many new things from that day. Also, I've always wanted to earn money online , and i i have failed many times spending money on websites and getting nothing back, but just because of those fails i'm here where i am today.

Yes pro! Love it! Yeah I've learned more about business freelancing than I have doing anything else or any other job in my whole life. Very interesting and very true what you say though indeed. Although those failures can't be considered failures as much as they can stepping stones today? Because it was through all of them that eventually lead you to SEOClerks? So I guess you can be thankful for them now. You would have learned something from them anyway. But I think that's something a lot of people can relate to. I don't think I've ever met one successful Internet entrepreneur today that hasn't failed at something online at least once or thrice! But if it got them to where they are and they're now succeeding at something, in something, then more for them for it! So was you already doing something with software then pro before you joined? Such as a software reseller or even developer perhaps? What sort of software turns you on pro? lol ;)

I started about eight years ago, when the family needs increased with the birth of our child. I wanted to find ways that could enable me to earn some more money. I also wanted to make sure that I was still present at home so as to make the most of my child's infancy. I did not want to lose that for anything in the world. So I was browsing and looking for ways to make money online and I came across an opportunity of writing articles. Since then I have never looked back. I have been writing articles and content ever since What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?

Well congratulations Elite! Even if it is 8 years late of me! That all sounds perfectly sound and reasonable to me! So was you a bit of a writer before you started working on SEOClerks then? Was you already doing freelance work as a writer before or had heard or read somewhere about it that you could do it or you just knew it was something you could do and was good at and thought you'd give it a shot and it's been uphill ever since? Is that fair to say and ask? What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?

Did some Graphic design, video production and wordpress work in Vworker later its acquired by one of the freelancing site. And I came out that site and spend my time completely in Seoclerks. Google is the key for everything Really happy with my progress in 4 year span here

Nice one vino! I love how your name reminds me of a bottle of wine! I've never used Vworker myself. Is is still worth getting into do you think for the video production side of it. It's good for making animated explainer videos and the like? But yeah, you definitely picked the best place for that and here's to another 4 years to your success! I was young, student and didn't want to work at McDonalds anymore. That's how I started looking into making money online.
I knew nothing about freelancing and I only want to make money somehow. So I created a stupid blog and learned a lot until I landed my first freelancer gig.

No. I never thought I was going to do this for such a long time. I had other plans for myself but life has a way of turning things around. I made a lot of money freelancing and was a great safety net when I needed money. I certainly never thought of earning this much plus having a 9-5 job. It's pretty much a dream come true for me.

I definitely see myself doing this in the future. Don't know if full time or just the same as I'm doing now, part-time freelancing. I guess it all depends on which one offers me more income.

What how could you not want to work at McDonalds anymore? What about all them whoppers you can eat! No seriously that's fair play. Anyway, there are better burgers out there! Just out of interest, what was the blog about you made? Why was it stupid? Just a bit primitive basically you mean? I've had and owned my fair share of primitive blogs way back when I didn't really know what I was doing. Mind you, I've had to unlearn a lot since then too! But that's awesome though, awesome that you've found your path so to speak and know now what you're all about and the path that you're going to take. And here's to wishing you the best of success with it!

Regards.

Mike.

Well I am not a freelancer here, but I will tell you how I landed up where I am today.

I have been working for myself for about 10 years. I started off doing bookkeeping for a few people. I hated it. When I had my first baby I decided I didn't want to work in something I hated and not be with my baby.

I got fixated on the idea of starting an online baby store, so I did that. I struggled to figure out how to work online so I did a lot of learning. While learning I realized I should blog on my website to get more traffic. I started blogging and I really liked it.

I then learned about affiliate marketing, earning money through Youtube and all sorts of wonderful things. I decided to close my online store to focus on what I really love. Creating content!

That's great Lynne. Thanks for sharing your story with us! So do you still have an online baby store today then? I know you have a few good sites and is that enough for you or will you be dipping your bread stick into other dips on the table in the future too? With one of these new domain names like Lynnesbaby.store or something What made you want to start freelancing? What lead you to where you are today?

Some writer friends invited me to one forum that paid for posts. And although the earnings were so little, I enjoyed the boards. It's not just posting and earnings but also learning particularly the boards about technology. That was 3 years ago and I'm still earning coins until now but my freelancing continues.

When I started writing things on my blog and getting some of my friends to read it, I was told that I could actually make money from what I wrote. I was wondering how that could be possible. So I started trying out sites like fiverr and freelance but I never got to make money. It is later this year that I was able to make money from the articles I wrote and build my experience in article writing.
