What Was Your First Online Method That Gave You Profits?

Freelancers,
What was your first online method that made you money? The first thing you did that actually worked for you?

This is not about your success stories in general, I'm just wondering what you did, where, when and this is about your first online success. Not your entire story. (Perhaps this CD could act as a suggestion bank for any newcomers who's looking for methods to generate money with.)

I personally, stumbled into freelancing in an odd way. As a former CS (counterstrike) player and In-game leader. I actually sold our teams tactics. I didn't think of it as freelancing or anything like that at the time.

That being said, I started out my real career so to speak, as a reseller. I sold social media services like FB likes, Youtube views and Instagram services.

This is a great question and thanks for all these great questions hitmeasap. I am sure these questions will help lots of people.

Well, my first online profit is from advertisements on my website. However, profits was extremely low because my website was very new and it didn't get much traffic. You will be lucky to earn a few dollars a month. I wouldn't recommend this method early in your career because to earn a decent amount of money you need a good amount of initial investment. Therefore, use a different method to earn money before using this method to earn money.

Thanks for sharing. I can understand this. A new website won't be able to generate much at all, as you won't have enough traffic to earn from the advertising.

How did you evolve from this? What did you do? What was your next step?

That's cool Lynne. I believe I've seen in other CD's that you're not a seller these days?

Wouldn't you be able to sell baby products on your website nowadays too, or do you have other things in life that consume too much time for that to happen?

Great topic, hope that others will share their experiences because this could be fun to see and remember how we started

My very first online business was reselling. Long ago when i started searching ebay for curiosity i found some downloadable ebooks bundle of 1000 then after i bought it, they all come with master resell rights and that automatically give me idea i could sell them too and make some money, so i did on ebay too. It was sweet first experience where i made first money to buy my brand new mobile phone on ebay again. After that i never stopped with ideas coming up to do more and more online business

Selling strategies and tactics seems like a pretty sweet gig You get to play games, and dominate, then sell your teams tactics for a profit. There's almost no overhead since you just have to pay for electricity and an internet connection, which is pretty awesome. You could sell two different formats of your tactics. Format one would be screenshots and descriptions of what to do and format two could be actual gameplay of what's going on and you could do commentary over it This could actually be a big seller now with PS4, Xbox1 and the new 4k consoles coming out. The only thing is that you'd have to target competitive player games like COD, Destiny, CounterStrike and even some PC games like starcraft and league of legends.


Anyways, my first online method to generate some cash was adsense. I got sucked into the gimmick a long time ago where you would see an ad saying "Get Paid By Posting Ads!" and "Make $500 A Day Posting Ads Online!" but what they didn't tell you is that all you'd be doing is setting up websites and putting strips of adsense code on them and hoping for some clicks. Not once did they mention how to get the traffic in order to get the clicks and profits, they just wanted you to buy their "system" that taught you how to put adsense on your pages, which is pretty low. That's like buying a car and it doesn't have tires on it The only good thing about this is that it pushed me into learning SEO in order to rank my pages and bring in traffic to click my ads.

Fast forward 13 years and now I have my own SEO company that is doing well and I have over 20 websites that aren't just collecting dust It's a hard road, but one worth traveling

Anyhow, I like your story. Great job!
For how long have you had your SEO company? And, why aren't you providing any services here on SEOClerks? Wouldn't that be a good thing to do, as SEOClerks is about SEO related services at its core, or do you have enough clients as it is?

I have done blog [posting for some people and made money out of doing so. I think that is the first online method that gave me money. The person happened to be my very close friend and contacted then to start writing for his blog considering the limited time he has to go at that moment.

It was a long time ago when I was invited to write articles for a blog. I didn’t even know that I would be a co-blogger that’s why I was surprised to see my name when my first article was published.
