Google definitely places a lot of value on video marketing tools. However, I am not sure what OP suggests has any thing to do with Google Panda. Panda is a ranking algorithm which seems to effect the onsite content more than incoming backlinks. You are saying that you found a great way to build backlinks to your site, but that would probably have worked great with or without Panda. It helps create a more social experience, which is good. However, I fail to understand why this reflects specifically on the Panda update.
These days it's all about getting links from sites in the same niche or industry that your site is in. Actually that's always been the best SEO method that has outgrown any other and stood the test of time. Backlinks from sites in the same industry or niche as yours are very valuable but not always easy to get especially considering that most of those sites will be your competitors sites! That's where guest posting comes in handy, but that involves some work on your behalf to get them. Or you can outsource these on SEOClerks as well. There's two types of guest posts though, there's those you can get on sites that are related to you buy contacting people and actually asking to write for them so they can get some free related content for their site but you also get backlink within that content to your site. And then there's those guest posts which are just on different blogs and sites that might not necessarily be related to yours. Sometimes these are alright if they're on sites that are in a similar industry to yours. Such as if you have a webmaster / IT type site and they are guest posts on places that are related to that. Those are okay. When one sets out to buy guest posts, one should try to use those that are as closely related to their industry as possible. Even if it's a broadly related guest post and it's on a good quality site that is one of the best SEO methods for 2016+.
With the SEO method, I would always prefer the contents. I have read so many discussions in this forum that content is king when it comes to search engine capability. That means if your site has good contents then your raking in search engines will be in a pretty good position. Especially for a blog, it is imperative that you upload contents regularly. You do that not exactly for the SEO capability of your website but more for the readers of your blog, right?
