What are the best free image hosting sites today in 2016?

I guess this should be in the Web Hosting category as that's what it is only for images! Over the years we've had some great free image hosting sites like Photobucket and Tinypic! I know you know and remember these sites no matter who you are! These days though everyone has their preference and or favorite.

I usually use IMGUR imgur.com or IMGUP imgup.net as they're both pretty stable but sometimes the lesser known image hosts are good to use to unless they go down, which they can do and then subsequently all your images do too.

What's your favorite preferred image uploading site and why?

Or do you prefer to upload images only to your own site?

Another question. More about adding images to SEOClerks. How do you attach an image to a post in the FAQ area without using the image short code? What is a way to do that so SEOClerks is hosting the image rather than relying on a free image hosting site to do it which could go down at any minute and mean images not showing. Because I use some of these sites in some of my faq posts and don't want that to happen.

Thanks!

Mike.

I do remember photobucket and tinypic, but I was never fond of these two. I use imgur. I personally think it's easy and reliable, which is why I use it.

When I create a new FAQ I just simply choose the file on my computer and upload it to seoclerks. That way, the screenshot or image will be visible as long as seoclerks is. This reply is made using my phone and I don't have any options for images, so that could be a good thing to implement.

Best regards,

Thanks mate. How do you mean "I just simply choose the file on my computer and upload it to seoclerks". How and where do you upload it to? You can upload an image into a service and then view the service and then the copy the image link I know that but that's a long clunky way to do it and you have to submit the service, get the image link and then delete the service again to do that if that's the way you do it?

How do you mean "the reply". You mean in the FAQ or for when the forum was up? I knw you could add images to a post in the forum and preview it and get the url of the image then but that only works on a desktop though.

Hey Mike,
I suppose I could've explained this in a better way.

What are the best free image hosting sites today in 2016?

On the above screenshot you can see that I've marked a the image button. By pressing that, you'll find this:

What are the best free image hosting sites today in 2016?

Here you can see that "upload" is marked. Press Upload and you'll see this:

What are the best free image hosting sites today in 2016?

Here it says: "Send it to the Server" and "Välj fil" (Yeah, that's Swedish!) which means "Choose file".

So basically just choose the image from your computer and press "send it so the server" and the image will be uploaded to SEOClerks. If you do things like this, you won't need to upload your images anywhere else.

Regarding what I said about being on my phone, is that when I replied using my phone, I didn't had any of these options I showed above. None of these buttons appeared. I just simply had a message box and nothing more at all.

Best Regards,
hitmeasap

I remember Tinypic; I used to use them but I got fed up with them because the website is just full of ads and very slow. Now I either use Imgur or host is on my own server. Imgur is great and you can upload multiple images at once with a few clicks and this is why that is my first option. However, for images on my websites, I just upload it on my server as it looks more professional for the image to be hosted on my personal server with my domain.

Here are two images which tells you where to upload the image.
Firstly press the image button as shown here:

Now upload the image in the upload tab and press send to server:What are the best free image hosting sites today in 2016?

I don't use an image hosting site and I can't quite understand what the use for this would be?

The key of an image hosting is to give your image a URL. The point of this is that you can easily share pictures online using a URL. For example, you can send the URL of the picture to a friend so they can see it. If you want to post an image on a forum, then you will either need to attach it onto your post or embed your URL into an img tag. It will be easier to format posts with pictures when you have a URL. In the Community Discussions, you can’t attach images so the only way is to get a URL and place it into your post.

Oh man am I old school. If I want to share a picture with someone I will email it haha.

I haven't had the need to add an image in a forum before. I see this forum there is an option to upload an image which is nice. I only noticed that now... maybe I will bless you with an image one day What are the best free image hosting sites today in 2016?

Haha fair enough Lynne! You've never used Photobucket or Tinypic once in your life Lynn? What are the best free image hosting sites today in 2016? What do you do if you need to put an image into a post on a forum or some blog or something somewhere but there's no upload option? You have to enter it manually with BBcode or HTML right?

So the use for this is for countering that so you can just upload images straight to a faq post. Where as before you had to host the image somewhere else but now you can just upload it straight to SEOClerks using the upload option as shown in the screenshot. It just adds a little bit more functionality and features to the FAQ that make it a little bit more easier and convenient to use if you do add lots of images to posts.

Regards,

Mike.

Um no Mike I don't know how to enter manually with BBcode or HTML... like what s BBcode anyway and I wouldn't have a clue how to add it with HTML.

If there is no option to add an image directly to a forum well then there will be no images from me. Nice to see I can images here, maybe one day I will do so.

Well actually after uploading image to Tinypic, automatically you get your shorten image URL, but also series of HTML and BBcodes to copy / paste in HTML editors, like in your blog, forum etc... ;)

I do remember Photobucket as well, as I used to use it all the time but I have never heard of Tinypic! I will have to look into it and learn some more about it! Thanks! As for right now I use Google drive and actually pay for it because I am pretty sure there are limits on how much you can store on some of these free image up loaders. My wife and I have 3 children so we take lots of pictures, to the point where our phones will tell us to delete pictures to create more space! What are the best free image hosting sites today in 2016? I like the fact that I have unlimited storage and can access my pictures anywhere!

Adding a quality picture on the website or blog can increase its visibility and significantly improve the engagement. Beware that although the site where it is hosted does no mention the policies of use or type of license so it does not mean that they can be used for free.

I also used PhotoBucket like ten or more years ago. I think there are better options available right now.

My top three are Imgur, Tinypic, and Imgbb.

They are all very fast with uploading, you can make an account on each one if you wish to save your pictures and so on and they all provide various links plus have quick options to share it on different social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, ...). Very, very handy.
