    Problems keeping Shockwave up to date

    The shockwave on my browser is out of date and I have tried to update several times but keep receiving an inadequate permissions warning when I go to install. How can I install new updates for Shockwave if it won't let me run the update program?

    Are you trying to run the update software as admin or regular user on your computer?

    This was happening to me for awhile on my computer, except it wouldn't download any updates on any software. And, I couldn't run Youtube or flash sites cause flash wouldn't update. I kept getting an error message about insufficient privileges to install. Turns out my computer owner had changed and been reset so the owner was trusted installer.

    Once I set myself as the owner of the computer again and gave my main admin account access, I was able to download updates on all programs.
