Google Plus is a fail?

Some people say Google Plus social networking site is a fail, but how so? It doesn't compare in every way to Facebook but doesn't it have it's own advantages that Facebook doesn't compete with?

Google+ is not a failure in any way. It's just not the same as Facebook. Most people compare Google+ to Facebook and see shortcomings and then assume it's failing. But the purpose of Google+ is different than Facebook. While Facebook is good at connecting friends, Google+ is better about connecting strangers with common interests. For instance, I'm a huge fan of the Walking Dead TV series and met many fans of the show on Google+ and we had great conversations about the show. And, I'd just met many of these people. In that way, Google+ is like a forum of many subniches. I never got that experience on Facebook.

I wouldnt say it is a failure at all. I really didn't think about the value of it until just a few weeks ago when I came across some new methods and now getting a ridiculous amount of traffic from the tests... Google+ is great if you know how to use it, it is difficult to get used Google Plus is a fail?

But I don't use G+ the way I do FB... as bev was saying above basically... need to use each for what it is good for Google Plus is a fail?

I have never cared much for G+. So I guess for me it is a fail but for others that have success with it, it is not really not a fail.

Google+ is getting popularity slowly, it is newer than Facebook thats why it is a little less popular.

Everything has it's own advantages and disadvantages. Only advantage which goes in favor of google+ is that, the links shared on g+ are given importance in google search.

I know a lot of people that love G+. While it is not for everyone, I do not see it as a fail.

Google+ is the 6th or 7th highest ranked website in the world. But sadly, Myspace places one slot higher, thats got to say something about Google+ though.

I do not see it as a fail. It takes time to get everything going, and in the beginning it may have been off, but now I believe it is going to be rather popular. It has shown up already that it is.

Assuming Google wasn't trying to be Facebook then they are actually a bigger win than most people would give them credit for. Google+ accomplishes what it's trying to do, rather than imitating Facebook, which in it's own way is broken due to privacy concerns and breaches.

Maybe we are comparing Google+ to the wrong site, if it's nothing like Facebook.

If Google+ is a failure, then why is the site still so active? There are at least as many Google+ users as Facebook users. And, I'm talking about active members on Google+, not all those fake Facebook accounts that bloat up the Facebook membership base.

I’d say Google+ is a failure and not a failure depending on how you look at it. As a social media network, I guess it is doing fine even if the increase in membership is not substantial. But if you look at it as a pretender to the throne of the more popular social networks then I guess it is an epic fail. If I remember correctly, a writer friend invited me to create an account in Google+ to join her network there. She said that Google+ is the next best thing to Facebook and in a year’s time, it will eclipse the popularity of Facebook. And now we know it was just a hype.
