Why was I blocked from sending messages on Facebook?

I got a message today that I'm now temporarily blocked from sending messages. Why did this happen? I don't remember spamming anyone. And, I only ever send messages to close friends on Facebook. We talk a lot by private message. Could this be a reason they blocked me from sending any more messages?

Unfortunately you could have been viewed as a spammer. Now they have a report button. Perhaps someone clicked on it to cause an investigation of spamming.

Because you have been identified as a spam as somebody reports you and now you are in the list of spammers.It may happen if you send unnecessary messages to someone. So be aware of sending msgs to unknown persons.

Most messaging blocks on Facebook are temporary, unless you are a repeat offender. Just chill out until your messaging ban is lifted. In that time, try to figure out what might have triggered the ban. For instance, you could review all recent messages from the past week. Look for any links you might have sent that could have been flagged. You might even ask around (if you know anyone off of Facebook) to see who might have reported you. Pretty soon, you should be able to message again. Just try to be more careful next time about who or what you message as some people are very sensitive and not afraid to use the report button.

Facebook has certain rules in place to stop annoying or abusive behavior. For instance, they would notice if you are messaging 100 friends in an hour with the same message. This could be considered spamming, even if you know these people in real life and are just inviting them to a birthday party. Just slow down your rate of messaging. Don't send so many messages and you will be able to message again soon.

If the message is sent by Facebook to mean you are blocked from sending messages to any of your friends then for sure someone had reported you. There are reasons like spamming or sending immoral photos or videos, etc. But if you cannot send a message to one or several friends but can send to others then those friends have blocked you. I do that to my friends who send me chain messages about religion or fake news and other unpleasant messages. There is no way they can send a message to me until I unblock them.
