Backlinks are the links of your website that you post in another website that includes social media. And with mention of social media, start by creating accounts in Facebook and Twitter, those are the 2 largest social media network. Using your account, gather as many friends and followers as you can. Now you can start posting on your timeline in Facebook and also tweeting about your website. Your friends and followers will click on your backlink if your promotional posts will be interesting to them.
