What's Google's real motive?

Google keeps changing algorithms, so much so that it's hard to know what's right or wrong to do with SEO anymore. Who's side is Google on anyway? And, what is their real motive for continually changing things? Are they just trying to be confusing?

I don't think there is evil motive behind what Google is doing. They just don't like people using tricks to game the search engines to get a place in listings they don't deserve. That's why they keep refining the algorithm to combat the search engine spam.

Their real and only motive is to make money. That has always been their motive.

They are like a rampaging giant who doesn't care if you get trampled if you get in their way. They are not your friend and they are only your ally if it suits them. They will shake your hand and stab you in the back at the same time.

Once you know this, you can still use SEO effectively to build your business. Just don't expect Google to help

To get the top companies always to the top and rape the small webmasters and make them use Adwords driven traffic. Google doesn't like people make money with them for free.

We had many good years of free advertising on Google search engine, maybe even a decade. So now if they are making it tough on webmasters, that's understandable. Google might be the best thing in life (online) but it's not free anymore if you want to be page one. For that, you need to buy an advertisement.

Google wants to earn money with the advertisements being shown. And, everything else is just part of the free organic search engine.

I think the changing of the algorithm is part of the strategy of Google to protect its trade secret. It looks like every search engine is trying to upend Google by copying the moves and guessing the algorithm. That keeps Google on its toes and it cannot rest on its laurels otherwise Yahoo or Bing can overtake the leader in the search engine industry. Let’s admit that Google is a long time number 1 and it will surely protect its position by all means. That is what I see with the other products of Google particularly Google Plus.

Google on the side of the honest user of its products and services. People get upset with Google when they need to be angry with the people who keep trying to game the Google search engine system so that they can always be on the front page of the search engine results. If people would stop trying to misuse and abuse the algorithms, Google wouldn't have to constantly change them! If you want your site to survive then you just have to keep up with the Google changes! Don't say you can't keep up because I know a site that did keep up and I know other sites that didn't. The site that kept up is still standing and the other sites that didn't keep up didn't survive.
