One of the things he points out is how constantly repeating a keyword/phrase over and over is more like keyword stuffing and won't really help your SEO and can actually hurt your search engine ranking. Some really important tips on what you should be focusing on when it comes to good content and keyword density for better search engine ranking.

Keyword density - relative frequency of word in the text expressed in percent.
If you use specific word in the text containing 100 words mean 5%.
Ideal Keyword density is 5% .

But, he mentioned how there is no magic number for keyword density. Where does this notion of specific keyword percentage come from? If Google doesn't use that equation, then maybe it's just an estimate made up by bloggers as a guideline.

It is said that the proper keyword density shall be in the range of 2% to 8%. But according to my observation, some web pages with low article keywords density also can be ranked high in SERP. In general, the keywords shall appear two or three times in a short article and five to eight time in a long one.

Do you think this is due to other off page SEO factors or maybe hidden on page factors such as meta tag/description optimization?
