    Attracting organic backlinks

    Google prefers organic, editorial style backlinks or those links which are freely given by another site owner. These links are SEO Gold and considered far more valuable than the blog/forum links which are seen as a manipulation of search engines (as they are obtained by the site owner rather than given by others as an endorsement of the site).

    But often, it seems almost impossible to get these editorial style backlinks.

    What methods can you use to attract editorial backlinks from other bloggers and site owners? What methods do you use to get these organic (unpaid and not manipulated) backlinks?

    For one thing, publishing a useful list is a good way to get a backlink from another site. Or, even posting a controversial opinion on a current niche topic. Please share some ways you would get editorial backlinks.

    Beverly - offer incentives, or focus on image seo and you will see alot of organic backlinks coming in from social network reposts - focus on things like pinterest for image seo and you will see organic backlinks start to come in based on the work you put into it. Be creative and you will be fine!!

    You get organic backlink only when you get organic traffic. You get organic traffic only when your website is ranked high in search results. Some other ways to attract organic backlinks are:
    well written contents
    keyword optimized content
    useful and informative contents

    This is new to me particularly that Gold backlink from another site. Perhaps you can get such links if your site’s link is in a high position in the search list as what @Vinaya said. When there is a search then the user will more likely click on the site’s link and see the page himself. If the content is interesting and better if educational then there is the probability to receive a comment. One of our video was about a radio drama and it is getting many comments from time to time. If that is a blog then probably it has a lot of gold backlinks already.
