What are the costs of being a freelancer?

You might assume that it's cheaper to work from home, as there is no gas for commuting and work clothes are more casual. But there will always be costs associated with working from home. For instance, most freelancers use their computer and internet connection, also consider the cost of electricity to power the computer. What other expenses are you facing as a freelancer that are cutting into your profits?

Some may feel that the freedom to come and go as you please is nice but often times it will catch you in a crunch. You may have to get caught up on work and get you in a frenzy if you do not stay on task.

I can only think of the ones that you have listed Beverly. Although you might think maybe small jobs will cut into your pay. Sometimes jobs that seem really easy end up being the most time consuming.

The little jobs often take a lot of time. The key is to balance the lower price with smaller work load, so a small job only takes a few minutes for delivery. Then maximize your promotion efforts for that smaller job so you earn more per hour.

Compared to working in the office, it is much cheaper to work at home since the overhead expenses is meager. However, the earnings is also meager and that can be considered as the cost. To be frank, I am earning a good salary from my office job and for sure that salary cannot be replaced by my freelancing.

Everything with a good side must surely have a bad side.Personally, it takes so much of my time, since I don't have a wifi and there's no public wifi in my territory then I pay so much for data monthly and not to mention the snail-like speed of the internet connection, sometimes it refused to connect.Another is the low pay by some sites and it becomes difficult to earn anything tangible at the end of the month.

Apart from electricity and high costs when trying to buy enough bundles, time is also needed. You can only be at peace with yourself and the freelance work you are doing if you are able to manage your time.

Also, you can find you do much online and yet you earn so little. It is better to know where to invest your time so that you do not feel exhausted or used.

I have always been a freelancer. As a freelancer, you must be prepared to
low paying jobs
not having enough works
getting scammed
working at odd times
etc.
