Why does more quantity prolong delivery time?

If I order service that has expected delivery of 6 days and during that one session I enter, let say, quantity of 3, the delivery time will be 3*6, which is 18 days.

But if I make 3 separate orders, each will take those 6 days to be completed.

This does not make much sense, does it?

I agree with you. Even if a buyer order 5 times the delivery time needs to be same. Because if the buyer separately places order, delivery time remain the same.

If you buy 3 service at same time, then delivery will be 6 days only.
Even if you buy 3 service, 1 By 1, then also delivery will be 6 days

Actually it is not the case. I bought a service with quantity of 3 and the delivery time got multiplied by 3.

If I knew that, I would have purchased them separately and had them all delivered within 1 week.

It depends on the service being sold. Some services can be delivered in the same amount of time regardless of the quantity while other services will take longer with a higher quantity. An example would be forum posting services.

You order 20 posts * 5 quantity on your forum. 20 posts take around 1 day. 5 quantity gives the seller 5 days to complete the service so the seller takes time to respond to new posts your forum members are making with high quality responses.

vs.

You make 5 orders for 20 posts for your forum (each an individual order so the seller has 1 day to complete all 100 posts). The seller is now rushed, frantically posting at a lower quality on your forum than if you ordered using the quantity option.
