    How did you select your blog theme?

    Most times, I will select a decorative blog theme (template) that matches the mood or subject matter of the blog. Though sometimes, I will just pick a clean blog theme that is pretty or sophisticated and elegant so it doesn't get in the way of the content. It can take many hours before I find a theme I want to use though and I might try out several before I find the one I'm happy with.

    How do you choose your blog theme? What do you look for? And, would you use a free or paid blog theme? Please talk about all the facets of picking a suitable blog theme and customizing it for your own use.

    It has to be one that sparks something in me. I have to like the template and the overall design of it as well as the colors and all.

    It took me like 2 days and almost 30 template or theme websites before I found my current theme. I basically wanted to changed from a 2-column page to a 3 column one to have more sidebar contents and ads.

    And now, even though I wanted to change it, I can't, It's the my current theme is the face or trademark of my site.

    And now, even though I wanted to change it, I can't, It's the my current theme is the face or trademark of my site.


    I like the three column look too, not just for ads but because it resembles a traditional website. And, that look appeals to me. And, yes more ad space to monetize a site is always a good thing.

    I always go inspirational with it. It is all about the colour that I like and how I want the blog to look that always guide my decision in selecting the blog theme. It takes some time to decide, but it is always worth it at the end.
