Adware or malware is a common issue for many people, especially if you have to download software from the internet.

I've been using Malwarebyte so far. How does it compare with these software?

Thank you for this procoder!
I've been using CCleaner for my needs so far. Are these two you mentioned a better option? Do you recommend any of these more than the other and in case you do, which one would you recommend?

I haven't had any major problems lately, *knocking on wood*, but about three or four months back my whole computer went totally NUTS because of malware or some kind of virus.. Fortunately, I could save most of my important documents and stuff before I reinstalled windows.

I haven't had any problems since then, but I would like to protect myself from this in the future, in the best possible way I can.

Best Regards,
hitmeasap

I'm a huge fan of Ccleaner too, but haven't run it for awhile. At the moment, it keeps popping up helpful reminders to clean my drive of junk files so that I will save 2 GB of space. How to remove adware from computer

Haha yeah, I've been there too.. The funniest thing with all of that is that you're getting those messages a bunch of times each day and whenever I see that message I'm like.. "Maaaan, STOP IT!!" and then I'll just close the message instead of actually doing what it tells me to do... How to remove adware from computer

Thanks for the tips. I am also using Ccleaner. And SpyHunter v4 is also a good option. It did a wonderful job on my PC by removing all the malwares and corrected the damaged registry.

You made a really good point, often a spyware will damage the registry in Windows and mess the whole thing up. Most times, you just have to reinstall. That's another reason it's so hard to get rid of spyware, as there is something installed in the registry that often does not get deleted on scans.

Thanks for the information. It is helpful to know more about ways to remove adware from your computer as it is something that all computer users need to be aware of and give importance to. We only seem to notice problems when they occur, and at that point the result is a lot of panicking. So with proper protection the scenario would be much better. I use CCleaner and I am quite satisfied with it. But i will keep Adwcleaner and Bitdefender in mind just in case.

Hi procoder thank for nice post. Adware or malware is now very common issue for internet user. I faced several times on my computer when I download some software from internet. And it is really harsh issue for me. I tried several free software but I could not protect though that was free software. And as Beverly Malwarebyte also excellent software to remove ?Adware or malware. And as you said Bitdefender Adware Removal Tool also good tools for anti ?Adware or malware. I used both software before but at this moment I do not sue anyone. And now I using 2 software one is Microsoft security essential and another I used K7 for my some computers.

Thanks by Ajlancer

This is a very good guide. A few months ago, I downloaded something and it came up with adware. I had Kaspersky Internet Security but it failed to remove the adware so I had to download Adw Cleaner to remove it. I wasn’t actually very happy about the fact that Kaspersky couldn’t remove the adware. The good thing is that it is very obvious when you have an adware and it is fairly easy to remove unlike viruses which isn’t always as obvious. I also recently got CCleaner but back then I didn’t have it so hopefully it can remove any adware I get in the future.

Basically I block advertisement sites via the hosts file, you can take a look at How to Block Ads with Hosts File. You may be wondering 'why are you talking about a method to block ads on a adware removal discussion'? It's quite simple, because you can block connections that distribute adware, malware, or basically any other type of ware, virus, or trojan.

It's very easy, and there is a list of those connections to block, and it's ever growing, so chances of you going to a site and then clicking on an ad or somehow if the website installs adware or trojans in the background it most likely wouldn't occur. The filters are strict, and I've had zero issues. You all may want to try this type of ad blocker, and then use an adblocker extension to remove advertisement elements from websites. Believe me, your internet speed will be faster too!

Gee, I didn’t know that someone can place an ad on your site without knowing it. What if your site is quite stagnant that you don’t attend to it for a week or 2 then the ad will be there without your explicit permission. This discussion is an awareness for webmasters to check once in a while their site for the presence of malwares and also to install software to prevent the attachment of malwares.
