I've made this mistake in the past and it did the same thing to me.
Double-check and make sure you're promoting the right link.
If you're doing a custom affiliate link, one aimed at a specific service, make sure you're adding an a. to the front of the URL so it directs properly and you get credit. You should also make sure the URL is typed out correctly and copy/paste it into your browser to ensure it's working properly before you start promoting it.
