Sites that don't get much traffic are better off displaying cpm ads but as you you'll be making about $1 for 1000 impressions, these ads won't earn you much money.

In fact, taking into account the fact that many people nowadays use adblocker, web owners have to diversify their income streams. So even if you use adsense to monetize, it shouldn't be the only way you plan to make money from your website.

With this in light, I wonder what other options could we do in our websites to make profit other than google adsense?

Using Google Adsense is only worth it if you have a lot traffic. For websites that get 100-1000 hits per day it is NOT the best solution for monetizing your website. You have to remember that Google Adsense is click-based. Meaning if a user does not click an advertisement, the webmaster will not earn money. However, the webmaster could earn a couple cents here and there but it will take a while to add up.

I have heard reports of webmasters not having a lot of traffic for their websites and then when they met the payment minimum their Google Adsense account was disabled due to either "invalid clicks" or simply because they were not generating enough quality traffic for the advertisers. So with this being said, Google adsense is only best for those who have at least 10,000 unique hits per day and upwards. I would not mess with Google Adsense if the website does not have at least 10,000 unique hits on a daily basis.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I am interested in Google Adsense and planning to used it. But since I am a beginner and you explained it really well, I can avoid using this. You have saved me from wasting my time. I will probably use this when I reach a lot of traffic.

I have to agree it's monetization is only applicable for those sites which are already successful or sites which have a high amount of traffic daily. It's not for idle sites or for new ones because such sites won't earn from it.

Doesn't sound very profitable, I mean, I don't think there are a lot of people willing to get bombarded with ads when they're browsing websites, it makes navigation slow and awkward.
Adblockers should disable all ads, how would Google ads show if the user is blocking them?

That was a good explanation. Thanks for sharing this analysis. I actually planning to try Google adsense in the near future if I launch my site. This analysis shows that Google adsense can give a potential passive income but it will surely took a lot of time. However, if you can generate good amount of traffic for your site, Google adsense is a great partner for you.

I think its worth it to those who have a popular website etc. Also i agree that it will take a lot of time to get your income in google adsense if your a new publisher. But as of now google adsense is more familiar for me than others.

As per the replies above, it is worth it once you have already established a sizable audience. It is measured by the amount of traffic you have on your websites and clicks on advertisements. So it is important to work hard and grow your brand first before using it.

Indeed. I made my research and this is what pops up. Google Adsense is good for those who are already established. May I know if you have any sites that you can recommend for beginners?

Google AdSense is indeed a great way to earn extra money, but sadly more on YouTube, rather than a website. A website might not get sufficient amount of clicks on the ads. YouTube on the other hand forces you to watch those ads.

If you have a popular website which is being visited by a lot of traffic then it would be a good thing to have Adsense, it would be like icing on top of the cake. But if you have a startup website or a website that has poor or low traffic then getting Adsense has no sense.

i agree on the fellows here that Google Adsense has advantage and disadvantages. But, it's more favorable when there's a number of active users visiting on a site. It will give traffic and earnings will be visible. I guess, having a good marketing strategic plan will help a site to grow on it's own especially thru promotion. This is beneficial to any site or product/service to be known in the market.

I think that it is depending. I think it depends on what niche you are. They are some niche's which work really well with Google adsense. The common niche's like making money online may not work. It is also an idea to have a few websites that use Google ad sense so that your income can add up. Overall a good idea.

This has been my experience with Google Ad Sense. On my personal blogs, it has not been profitable. But for my HUBPages where there is an Ad Sense revenue-share plan, it has been profitable.

Google Adsense is good for popular or frequently visited website. Otherwise you may run into a point we're you will be disabled. A click-based advertisemt will not earn that much. My experience in that sense allows me to look for other ways of income generation since most users will prefer not to click on the link.

I am actually looking for an alternative to Google Adsense because it is disappointing when Adsense had cut down to 50% the rate of revenue sharing scheme. That means what I was earning before will only be half today. But until now I haven’t found a worthy replacement for Adsense maybe because it is the only monetization that can give the users a good revenue even if it is smaller now.

Here is a list of alternatives. On this list I can suggest Amazon, VigLink and ShareASale. They are on the list but I wouldn't call them “alternatives” or a "worthy replacement". But I have earned money using them and the payout or cash-out is much lower than Ad Sense's $100.

Google Adsense ads aren't all that bad, as they usually aren't as intrusive as ads from other services. The problem is that you would need to have a very popular website to earn decent money from Adsense.
I know some webmasters who own dozens of niche sites and place Adsense ads on them. While each site only makes a few dollars a day, it does add up to a decent amount at the end of them month.

I know people who make good money with adsense, the trick in my opinion is having many websites that earn money. Like everything online you need to find a formula that works. This involves testing out various strategies. Once you find something that works, the wisest thing is to replicate it. Have many websites running Google ads and the cents will add up eventually.

Yes, its worth it, why? Because Google Adsense is the no. 1 monetization site and it helps you when you're a newbie in terms of monetization also I recommend Google Adsense for a big and small business that want to monetize their forums, blogs and earnings statistics every day

Youtube requires adsense. So adsense is the biggest earner for many people. But the thing is that with the adblocker, it can be bad for the monetization. So there are people who are making use of the affiliate links. And that way some people are earning some revenue in due process. I think for now and may be for few years the adsense may work out. But in future you may have to find other options for your ads on site. Also diversifying your monetization is the way it can work as well.

I think it is worth it as long as you have active visitors in your website. I am not sure if it is possible to make Google Adsense in a way that they have to click it first before they can be able to proceed to the next page. This is the strategy that Youtube and Youtubers are using. You have to watch the advertisement first before you'll be able to watch the video which makes it a sure click if the visitor really wants to view the video.
