Your site has just been delisted with google. What are some things you can do to get it back on the list? Are there things you want to stay away from?

First, find out why your site was delisted. Read Google's webmaster tips and requirements, and then fix your site accordingly. Then submit it to Google: www.google.com/addurl/

Find what is the reason of being delisted. Maybe its just Google Dance or something similar, but if it turns out you really was penalized, fix the problem and start creating quality backlinks.

Will quality backlinks neutralize the issue of being delisted? What I mean is if you post many quality backlinks will the ranking of the site be back to normal and your site will be listed again? I have many questions about sanctions by Google but maybe this question is what I want to know for now – is it only Google that penalizes a site for bad SEO method, what about the other search engines?

This is why you should use Google Webmaster Tools. By doing so, it will tell you if there has been a penalty applied against your site and what that penalty is for and why. This will make it easier for you to reverse and clean up whatever the penalty was for and then you can submit a reconsideration request where one of the Google web spam team will look into it and see if the offending material has been dealt with or not and then proceed to lift the penalty. That doesn't mean that your sites indexing will return to how it was before though. It may be that Google has to crawl your site all over again so you will have to start from square one and may have lost rankings because of it. For that reason alone it's never worth doing anything that you might be able to get a penalty for. Only do what is within the Google Webmaster Guidelines and then you wont get one of these delisted, deindexed penalties!

From what I understand when your website is hit by a penalty, it had violated the policy of Google. Check out what you can find about the policies and probably you already have an idea of what you have done wrong on this issue. But anyway, the best move is to find a way on how to get back to right track. Maybe you need to correct the mistake and do more SEO work for Google to see that your website is again eligible.
