Games are so addictive because they are challenging and exciting. As you upgrade your level in a game, the level of challenges are getting harder and the excitement of achieving more challenges makes them hooked into the game. The game creator uses the hunter's instinct and apply it to their games. Hunter's are excited when hunting their target but when they already caught the target, the level of challenges and excitement are cooling off.

As I observe my cousins, they seems to be like that. They are more motivated and challenge to play even more when they got an upgrade, or they kill the boss enemy and receive some extra benefits.

I think its the thrill of winning. Once you start to play you get addicted to wanting to win. I don't have this problem because I understand that this is a game. However for my partner and brother they are always playing and trying to win. They always want to beat their previous record. I have a family friend who stays up all night playing video games, sleeps for two hours and goes to university. Now this is real addiction.

Video games can be addicted as it's really entertaining. We are challenge by our opponents and that's what makes us exciting and eager more to win the game. You will really get addicted if you always win the game but if it's not, sometimes you will get annoyed and just give up and do other things.

The challenge always make it fun and a happy way to enjoy the moments. This is what I like as I always feel like a king when I end up beating someone friends on the game. I believe that the joy of beating rival in video games make it addictive.

Yeah, what's more challenging is to beat your rivals but you will end up playing games the whole day and you ruin your daily schedule which is not good. That's the disadvantage of it, it's good that it makes you entertain but your daily routine here suffer.

Most games are addictive, not just video games that's why I only play them when I'm totally bored to while away time. The game is addictive since it mostly a leisure thing that isn't really tasking.

Video games nowadays are very challenging and trendy, but what makes it more interesting is the interaction with co-player all over the world. Video games players tend to test their skills and strategy with other players, plus the recognition from others that you're good at this and that. Fame is also one of the reason why video games nowadays are very popular among players especially teens.

Yes,I think teens are really suffering the addiction because they have so much time in their hands and can stay all day playing. As you stated teens love fame so they might really want to savour it as it present itself.

Games are addicting because they are exciting and entertaining. It is like watching a movie that you have free reign of on what will happen. It is also challenging and plays on our competitive nature. The need to finish and be good at a video game is an interesting study. Video games, specially nowadays are immersive and visually pleasing.

Online video games has always been addictive. I think people gets so addicted to them is because when they managed to start being good at the game and have an OP account it gives them this satisfaction. In a game they get to control how their character or how their game turns out. They are in control of everything compared to real life where your circumstances affects the outcome. I think they use it as a means of escaping reality. They get to meet a lot of people who have the same interest as them and they also start forming relationships and bonds.

Most people get addicted to something because it offers them a means of escape (from the world) or makes them feel good.

According to an article I read on psychology.com, games can activate the brains pleasure circuits. Technically, that is the reward you get for playing video games and as you'll want more of the same, you'll be playing games more often and unless you stop yourself before it is too late, you'd have become a video game addict.

Why are video games so addictive: I do play video games and thats true, it was addictive maybe because playing it somewhat like playing it in real, the feeling that you are the real character of the game. It was an interesting kind of games, challenging and the longer you playing it the more you excite do play it more specially the different challenges that you need to pass in different level is somewhat a victory in real.

You know the feeling when you think you can do something, but failed, and you have the urge to try it again? That's what the video games are doing to us. Also, the fun, graphics and trill that it gives makes us want to play even more.

Because the developer really knows how to make the game addictive by giving rewards or providing ranks that can make people competitive and when an individual is competing with another individual then that makes it addictive because as humans we want to be better than any other human being that's just how we are. Also games stimulates our brain and enables our brain to release feel good hormones, that's why we feel good playing games which in turns we crave more of that and that's why it's addictive.

I think it is the thrill of challenging yourself and winning. Once you have won one level and move up the ladder to the next level, it is even more challenging and achieving that goal of moving to the next level is a test of your abilities. Games are also quite entertaining and can help while away time thereby preventing boredom. Most online games allow you play against other people from all over the world which can get your competitive juices flowing. You want to make a name for yourself and prove to be the best

Because they employ people with an understanding of the science behind influencing player retention. Everything is done for a specific reason to manipulate you. In PVP, matchmaking algorithms are used to prevent churn.

Yes that's the main reason why it's addictive because us humans in nature are competitive and almost all video games are competitive and what makes it competitive are the rewards too and the achievements or items that are unlock, also playing with friends makes it so enjoyable.

I think that video games are so addictive because they present you with a whole new world. And you know, people love to "escape" from reality sometimes. Same case with books, TV series, movies, music. You become addicted to something because you absolutely love every aspect of it although this may not always be the case. I had been addicted to some outstanding games and I could not stop playing them for hours.

Video game is a game, right? And a game is designed to be exciting. The video game is not just a game but an experience for the player. It doesn’t just test your skills but also your patience and discretion so that you are challenged even more when you fail. The extreme excitement plus the challenge are the elements I see that make the video game addictive to players especially those who have the luxury of time for playing.

Well, video games or any other type of online game is supposed to entertain you. One must keep them limited to break the monotony when you are feeling bored or you want to do something different for some time to break the monotony of our routine. However, if you are going ahead and getting addicted to the games then there is some serious problem in your thinking process and lifestyle. Getting addicted to anything is not very advisable in the long run in our life. You will end up wasting your precious time due to this addiction and would gain nothing in return from the activity.

There are many factors to consider in game addiction. Other people might have a social problem which drives them towards on playing video games instead of socializing. Other people find fulfillment in completing tasks in video games. They feel their worth because they are able to complete tasks which they can't do in real life while others were just influenced by friends, peers or environment.

Much like social media, people play games when they're bored and got nothing else to do so I think it's how people waste their time instead of not doing anything because I too don't like the feeling of not doing anything so I play games or be on social media and be addicted with them.

Video games brings player in a world where they can do dangerous things, something which is impossible in reality. On that note, luring them to participate in a challenging battle which heighten adrenaline. Gaming is enjoyable, not addictive. It is just a lot more enjoyable than silly books or tv, it is interactive and can convey beauty meaning thrill and competition in a way no other medium yet invented can, because those mediums are much more limited than a video game. Eventually we’ll have fully immerse cryotanks which will one up video games, but until then we’re stuck here and the old people who think otherwise are just ignorant.
