Well, I might not be in a position to give you advice because I am just a level 2 seller and there are more experienced sellers here. However, based on how selling works on SEO Clerks and other similar freelance marketplaces, here are some of the tips that might help you.
Title your service properly: Your title should describe your exact service interestingly
Description: you should write the description properly. You should describe your experience in doing the service. You should also write about what kind of things buyers should expect.
Pricing: You should always price your service less than your competitors.
Promote: You should do onsite and offsite promotion.

I'm not a seller on here, but I do shop on here. My advice would be:

- Make your service stand out from your competitors' by not offering exactly the same thing. Make it your own, be compelling as to why it's the best way to go.
- Include important descriptive words in your service title so it comes up easily in searches.
- Be thorough, yet prompt in your service description. As a customer, I don't want to read a novel length description, but I also don't want to have to contact the seller for more information.
- Login daily! If a seller hasn't logged in today, I almost always buy from someone else who has, even if the service is slightly worse.
- If English isn't your native language, hire someone to proofread your service description. There are lots of sellers on here who have contradictory or otherwise unclear service descriptions. As a buyer, I want to know exactly what I'm getting. If I have to contact a seller to confirm, it's a pain.
- Have a sale. Sales won't make you money, and may not even get you returning clients, but it does get you feedback, and if you're lucky, maybe a recommendation.
- Choose a professional looking avatar. It shouldn't be pixelated, or stretched. If you use a self portrait, dress for success, and don't hold the camera yourself. If you use a drawing, use a drawing of something related to your service. Perhaps even hire someone to make you a great custom icon. Do not use drawn portraits, despite how common they are.

As a seller trying to sell more services, I appreciate your tips from buyer's point of view. I agree with all of your points and I will like to focus on your point on have a sale.
The newbies should always try to make the first sale because the first sale will give you review and rating. If you have a positive review and rating, you are likely to be believed by another buyer.
The seller should also log into the site daily, if possible frequently throughout the day. You should always have less response time.

The best way I can think of is to find your Niche first and use Facebook great tool of finding people who have the same interest as your niche. It is a great tool for reaching your target audience, facebook use to collect details of the things you been browsing, looking or checking using their website and with that you can easily reach the people you want to reach but you have to spend or pay facebook with this service plus you have to also study how to properly use this tool so your investment won't go to waste.

gavinci13,
This is exactly the strategy I have started with, and I have had a lot of luck selling my books and ebooks while using social media. I would also suggest to everyone to use emailing lists or monthly newsletters/reminders. It is very important to find on'e niche and to be educated about what your competitors or influences are themselves doing within that niche. Since I support a lot of poets and sell collections of poetry, I have a pretty specific niche and get some pretty good traffic from my social media ventures. You are so right about using social media for reaching out to our target audiences.

I think just keep updating your profile, Promote your profile in different social media site, include the testimonials of your previous clients to your profile. Reply on time to the possible clients.

This. Aeon has got it right. I think the best thing to do is to just keep promoting your services on other platforms and especially on social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter. By promoting your services you are increasing the number of people that may see your service and may result in getting some more customers.

DarthHazard,
I also agree and think that it is of the utmost important to keep our sites populated with fresh content and new ideas so that we are constantly growing and improving on what we are doing for ourselves and for our customers. As you said, social media also needs to be constantly updated, in terms of our profiles, etc., so that we constantly appear to be a present and ever-evolving force to be reckoned with in our niche of choice!

Testimonials are one of the best ways to actually find new customers. There is nothing better than reading testimonials because of the fact that as a customer it can tell you that the seller is good and can do the work required well. It can definitely help increase sales especially if you have a lot of positive testimonials and ratings

The easiest way is to tap your social media connections. Just post whatever your selling and the ordering procedure.

If you have your own website site then post your links to your social media page. Works best if your using Facebook.

You can also link your social media accounts to your website for easy navigation and having a group or being a member of Facebook groups can give you a good traffic.

Those are the easiest ways to market your products.

That's a good point. If you have your website make sure to put your SEOClerk link up there so your visitors/readers will know that you're in the market for providing specific services. This will actually boost your sells by a lot if you have a highly visited website.

I do own several sights along with my partners but it's a company thing, I'm just one of the decision makers. Links and any kind of Adverts are prohibited.

My personal sites on the other hand are niche sites for Anime Otakus and Movie Addicts.

But I'm planning to have another business site soon. When I'm well enough. I suffered a stroke in my right hemisphere last October caused by stress at work. That's why im taking a year off just to relax and recuperate.
I'm mostly on the internet now which I haven't done for a long time.
Thanks for your comment much appreciated.

It looks like you have gotten some excellent advice on here. I think taking a variety of this advice and making it your own will help you get more customers than you know what to do with. This is the beauty of this service and why it works for so many people!

Hi there! Welcome to SeoClerks. In order to find new customer you should follow below rules:

1) Keep updating your profile
2) Share your profile/service link in different social site
3) Message the customers who are relevant to your service.
4) Be honest and makes the clients happy.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DarthHazard
Regarding this advice, make sure not to bother too many people by messaging them. You don't want them to start thinking that you are just spamming your services to them which may create a bad impression. Try to ensure that you only message those that truly might be interested in your services and not just random users.

I think sending message to customers will annoy them, specially if they don't initiate the first message. Well that's for me, my own opinion. Every time I ask about something in comment section, I expecting them to answer me on the comment section too, when some one said message me, or look at your inbox, i'm immediately not interested. I don't know why.

Sorry I am not suitable to give you good advice but I think the best way is to promote your service to the public like social medias. Facebook and forum sites. Give advice and ideas , then your readers would visit your link and choose your service

Promoting your page or the group to more people is one way to get customers. And here you can acquire them on case by case basis. Start by making first customer with your skill or gig set. And then see if that applies for the work with another client. And then snowball from that place onwards. That seems to be one way many people are finding the customers. And you should be doing the same as well.

overcast,
I agree with you here, once again. I also agree with the fact that what is primary is always providing quick, reliable, and efficient customer service so that your clients and consumers always feel that they can trust you with their money and time. Promoting your pages through social media is a must, as you are saying, and I think that we have to constantly evolve as we do this in order to get better and better at it all of the time as our business expands. Providing a valuable and unique product or service to your customers, and then following that up with excellent customer service, will always give you repeat and returning business, in my opinion.

Agree. At the end value seems to be the thing that is on table. And money is just transaction for the value. I think the way we have to promote may differ depending on the niche of the service on this site though. Because writer may promote it differently from the SEO seller.

You are talking about making use of your customers or clients base to promote your business services. This works perfectly well especially when your satisfied customers or clients refer other prospective customers to come for your business services probably because they were satisfied with what you offered them. I find using this means very efficient and effective in booming ones sales.

Yes word of mouth works. I tried that one on the fiverr. And it was one of the good way through which I have managed to find the customers. I think that surely works out in the long run. I think there are some people who do this on facebook groups and they have better results through it.

I believe that the best way is to start building up your level and reputations/reviews. With more reviews and good feedback, it will get much easier to get new customers for your services. So, I'd suggest that you make your ad stand out - look at the prices and make yours attractive. When writing out the service, be specific, list all the advantages of using your service, etc.

Then when you set it all up, advertise! You can easily advertise it on things such as Twitter or other platforms. You should strive to give exposure and attract as many people as possible to at least check your services out.

Another way to find new customers is to advertise offline it's a little old school but it still works you can get decent traffic by doing it. Depending on your niche you could target print media.

There are basic ways to get customers, but it depends on what you are selling at the moment. That is what really matter as long as I'm concerned. If it is a product that can be launched on the internet, I would advise that you get a good website, employ the services of a copywriter that can make good sales copy for your products and see how sales will boom within a short period of time. Also, you can still to offline advertising which can include mouth to mouth advertising as well as sharing hand bills on what you sale. It may not yield the best results when you begin, but it is something that can work out in the long-run as long as you are selling a quality product.

I think you need to take an online marketing course. Use your best friend Google and you will find a free online marketing course. This will teach you the basics of online marketing. Your question is too broad and nobody can really tell you the answer. It's like asking how do you defend a case? People go to university for 4 years to learn to defend a case. Marketing online is a skill that people learn and are paid a lot of money for. A hint from me, SEO, SEO, SEO......

Promote your services through social media or through ads. Since you're here, it helps if you take advantage of SEO and make full use of the resources available here. At the same time, try to improve your services and ensure that you are providing quality content and helps your customers in everything that they want from you. Your customers can serve as a good source of advertisement through word of mouth.

You're right, I think the post referring to this site, the SEOclerks and not about the general scale, but if the owner of this post wants to get some customers aside from this SEOclerks, well, social media is a good site. and also some other forums will help a lot.

I've worked as Graphic Artist in a company and my head supervisor is a marketing manager. She orient me about how I can advertise a product or services. Usually you can find costumers thru Social Media so if you have a business you should create page and advertise your services in social media such as in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube. These are the social media you can use because they are one Social media who do have many users.

If you're a freelancer and looking for clients online for doing some writing jobs, I think you should offer your service for free if the job is really easy, If your competitors offer it for 5 dollars, offer your service for free, and ask for payment for the second job if the client hire you again, and I'm sure the client will recommend you to others by doing that.

It looks like you have more than enough answers already. I just want to add that customers are more likely to come back if they had a great experience. That's why keeping your online and offline shop at its best should be prioritized. You never when a potential customer might become a long-term client.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Finding customers takes time. It's best to start somewhere. You can try posting your products and services online through a seller's site. You can even try making your own in Wordpress. Just stay consistent and eventually you'll find your target audience.

That is also a good advice, but lowing your price to your competitor price for me is not a good idea. Price of products sometimes having an impact on average minded customers, some will think like its cheap because of low quality and not to think cheap because of competition. That's why most of highly branded stuff out there is struggling also because of mark down prices of their competitor but still they stand for it because they know they are producing high quality products.
