HD Webcam Recommendation

Hi, I am looking to purchase a HD webcam for the purpose of online teaching.
What are your recommended webcams ?
I would say it's mainly for communication via Skype or Zoom.
It would be great if you could be specific with the model and brand.
Your inputs are much appreciated.

I'd really love to help you out but it's pretty hard since you didn't give us any budget number. Some HD cameras can be more expensive than others.

Here are my suggestions;
- Logitech HD Webcam C615; I personally use it. It's great quality and very affordable.
- Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920,
- Logitech B910 HD Webcam,
- Logitech HD Webcam C310,
- Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000; worse than the Logitech ones but cheap.

There are few companies on this market. Logitech seems to be the leading one on this. And they seem to be getting a lot of leads. As you can see they have range of HD cams. Logitech HD Webcam C270 seems to be the cheapest one in the market. The quality of that webcam can be good enough. And you can pretty much consider this cam for the production ready work. I have seen many who make use of this model. And it's under 30$ price range.

I recommend the logitech c920 pro webcam. It shoots 1080p at a great quality. You can probably get a cheap one on ebay now since it's been released a couple of years ago already. I know a lot of Youtubers who use that webcam for their videos too, and it all looks great. For video calls, you'll do great with it as it even performs well in low light.

To be honest, my last two webcams have been Logitech, they turned out to be really good, the price was affordable, lightweight, they are HD 720 or upper, super easy to install with very simple directions, and they work fine with Windows and Macs. The only issue maybe is that unlike others webcams, Logitech usually can't be stand up, and move to the table or tops, they only can be attached to the pc, but despite that, they are the best option so far.

I will definitely go for Logitech. I am still waiting for my order to arrive. Hopefully, the webcam will be more than sufficient for my needs. I doubt I will need webcams which can stand by itself.

Well it depends on your budget as well. You can get a decent full HD camera like the Logitech C615 with a 360° swivel or the Logitech C920 with Full HD as well both of which cost less than 60$. The C920 is a best seller on Amazon with over 8000 reviews. That speaks volume as well. Hope you get a good one, cheers!

I was offered a tutorial work earlier this year. It is conversational English for Koreans and other non-English speakers. The one who offered the job is my friend in Facebook and that is her livelihood so she is encouraging me. I have a Skype but I don’t have a good webcam. She recommended that I buy an HD webcam to have clarity in communicating with the student. That stopped me on my tracks because the HD webcam is expensive as per my standard.
