10+ Ways to Find Inspiration for Freelance Writers, Bloggers or Authors
Are you a freelance writer or author? Are you in the process of either thinking about writing your own book, story, novel or even some kind of eBook story like a Kindle book or something? Well, whether you are or you aren't. And you're just a freelance writer or a blogger even! And you are often staring a blank article submission form wondering, what the bloody hell can I write about!? Or, you're thinking, how in cold hell can I come up with something? But inspiration isn't a bird! You can hold your hand out with breadcrumbs in it but the chances are those birds still wont come and land on your hand. I believe that one of the best ways to find inspiration to produce content is to always be reading new content and noting important ideas.

I usually use Evernote to annotate, save links and organize ideas for writing in the future. I think the creative barrier is just a passing moment that can be broken with annotations of ideas, topics, images, videos, among other resources.

I believe that organizing ideas is the most important thing to always keep new ideas in mind. I both Evernote and Excel and I confess that this helps me a lot.

Sometimes I open both and I know exactly what I want to develop and so the idea flows naturally.

Reading is one activity that should not be lacking in the habit of a writer. One veteran writer said that if you need a good output then you should be getting a good input. My priority in reading is the newspaper. I get updated on the current events particularly on what is happening to our country and I also get ideas for writing. There are 3 major newspapers online that I read every morning. It is the breakfast for my eyes.

This is perfect for me since I produce a lot of articles and I am constantly looking for good inspiration - the type that inspires you so much that you actually enjoy writing and can't stop. That's the best kind. It is hard to come across it but your tips are always so helpful.

Movies and music are a huge inspiration for me. Especially the classical music - not only does it inspire but it also makes me focus more and stress less over unimportant things. I'd highly recommend listening to some when you're trying to get inspired. Movies are always a good option too since you never know what you will see or maybe even hear - that beautiful ''click'' that will be your inspiration for the next work you produce!

Although it's important to learn from others, you must also take action for yourself to discover what works and what doesn't. Only then will you be able to create your own unique path to success. Remember, life is all about growth and evolution. To grow and evolve, people must be willing to experiment with new things to determine what true success means to them. Through trial and error, you'll learn about what works and that keeping things simple is the most efficient, and effective, approach towards success.

That's really a good inspiration to find ideas. Though I am not really a freelance writer or blogger, I always like to share the information I like to read and positive. When I feel so strong about the information, it always allows me to write smoothly without struggling. It's always good to find things that make us feel good and make us smile too!

Thanks for the great article!

Thank you for the article! As a freelance writer it's not always easy to keep yourself motivated, especially when you don't have any jobs available. Bloggers always suffer from this when they don't have ideas for topics.
It's a good idea to take a break from time to time and re-think some of the aspects of your job.

Inspiration is a real problem for me. My blog is about growing bonsai trees and I always have something to write about for that but I've been wanting to write about things that fall outside my niche too, either as a second blog or possibly an ebook one day, and I don't really know where to start. I'll definitely be reading your articles to see if they can help me move in that direction.

If you have one niche and constantly publish contents on this niche, you will soon find that you are exhausted and you can no longer find topics to write about. However, by exploring other related niches, you will have inspirations to write fresh contents. For instance, you can also publish on terrace gardening, indoor gardening etc. Bonsai is a gardening niche and terrace gardening and indoor gardening are also gardening niche.

great resource there, thanks. Getting inspiration doesn't come all the time and it can really get frustrating when you experience such. When you find your self in such situation, taking a walk can simply help you over come the bloc, or you can simply do some other things you enjoy doing and when the inspiration returns, you get back to doing your stuff.

I've just started my blog so I still have a lot of subjects to cover on the pipeline. If I somehow run out of topics to write about, I'll probably stop for a bit and take time to read the current news and see how I can expand on some news angle. My blog, by the way, is a finance blog so it can cover a lot of stuff that people might be interested to read about. I can connect it to health matters and insurance, budget, savings, and spending habits. I'm also fond of reading other people's blogs and if I see some gaps, I can probably fill in and expound on the subject.

Reading is required of a writer. My friends who are professional writers always say that writing is an output and reading is the input. That simple equation tells me that I have to mind my reading chores to fortify my stock knowledge. And when it is easier to write because you have a wide coverage of the topic then you would surely be inspired.

Reading is one of the best ways to get inspired. When you read, you will not only gain knowledge and wisdom but also learn the craft of writing. You can read a variety of things, from online articles to articles in newspapers and magazines, books and ebooks.
Watching TV, especially documentaries also give you the inspiration to write.
Traveling is also very helpful if you have writer's block.

I am often motivated by work and new challenges that I throw myself every day. If I find myself in a stupor and do not know what to write on a topic given to me, then I go to this website and read essay examples for inspiration. I like this method, so I do not lose my fuse while working without finding something to write.
