SEO Tips for for better exposure

If you want your site to be visible in search engines and you want to get traffic from there then you must have to submit your site to different search engines. There are many websites that offers to submit your blog for free on more than 200 search engines.

Search engine submission is necessary as it is a way to invite robots to visit your site and list it into their search engines.

I think it is more worthwhile to submit to largest classifieds, directory, blogs, forum, etc, reason being your website link

Take care on this because they can hurt SEO ranking for your site.
Excluding forum and blogs because they are still valuable for SEO.

I disagree. It's really pointless to submit to Search Engines. Google is about the only Search Engine that's worth ranking high in today and it has a fast discovery rate so new sites are often crawled and indexed by Google pretty fast. Especially if it has some do follow links pointing to it from a site that is highly crawled like a forum or a blog or something, Reddit etc or something. And all you really have to do is set up your site with Webmaster Tools and submit your sitemap to it and do it that way and it's done. Think about it, what are those other 200 search engines? They aren't even known about and most of them are probably Russian or something. There are some other Search Engines worth ranking high in sure, like Bing, Yahoo etc. But that's about it! All those sites that offer to submit your site to 200+ search engines are usually set up to capture an email from you so they can send you spam. I know there are sites out there that don't ask for your email address to do it but it's still pretty pointless really for these reasons. Just submit to Webmaster Tools, and then leave it at that.

Another thing to consider is that those over 200+ search engines are often the spiders and bots that you end up blocking from accessing/crawling your site anyway since they don't really send you any traffic from them and just use up your bandwidth! SEO Tips for for better exposure

You're right on Google being the only search engine that's quite popular which makes it hard ranking on other search engines. Also, even the success of such plan won't drive the real people to such search engines.

I agree with IdealMike as it is not necessary to submit your site to search engines. Google search engine bot can visit and index your site automatically and you don't need to do it manually.

On the other hand, it is not bad to submitting your site to search engine. There is no loss to do it as it is good to gain traffic from any search engine. It does not leave a negative effect on the website if you are having visitors worldwide.

Unless the site is being visited by many people from around the globe, I don't see such plan working out for me at the end. I would prefer to stick to Google and look for ways to rank higher.

The only few search engines I like is Google been the top one of all time, Bing and Yahoo. The rest is just full of spam but that is my opinion . I use to submit everywhere to all kinds when first started out but I don't see the point your just wasting your time there. Now I concentrate on the bigger ones and at first place is Google.

It's total waste of time since we can get better and quality traffics by ranking higher only on Google. I see other search engines as complementary.

The truth is that aside from the traffics generated from Yahoo search engine, Bing and Google, it's difficult to achieve such success by spreading to other sites for reason like having your site being spammed and all that.

Does this mean that if my website is getting a good number of traffic from the regular visitors, do I still have to submit my site to search engines for my link to appear in the search list? Pardon me for my ignorance because my idea was for the website to gain substantial number of traffic and the search engine will begin to notice it. That means there is no need of submitting the site’s link to be qualified for inclusion to the search list.

For me it's only Google that matrers. It's the biggest and it's where half of my traffic comes from. The other half comes from Social Media specifically Facebook. With the sheer dominance of Google and Facebook I don't think tapping other search engines can help me more. I'll just concentrate on those two for better traffic results.
