Why do the Google Captcha Images keep fading when clicked on? How to prevent that?

Do you ever do a lot of Google captchas the ones where you have to click on all the ones with mountains in the background or the ones where you have to click on all the store fronts or all the gas stations or the road signs or even ones with door numbers etc.

Sometimes when you click on them, the images fade away and a new one is shown so it doesn't remember your selection. This means you have to click to refresh and have new images shown, but then sometimes it does that fade thing again and you have to refresh it again to get something to show.

Usually the only ones it works on are the ones with road signs in them but then sometimes, when you click on all the squares that contain that road sign in it, it still doesn't even work and accept your answer! So then it shows again, this time you get it right again and it still doesn't accept your answer so you do it again after about 5 times before it finally accepts it.

Sometimes you see the same image/squares and some times it accepts your selection as the answer but then on other times it doesn't like what the fish is that about? And sometimes... it just freezes up and times out on you and tells you so you have to refresh the image/squares and then go through all of this madness again! LOL

I don't get why Google keeps asking me over and over again from the same IP address to do that captcha either. If my IP address has manually answered their captcha form many times already it's obvious I'm not a machine and I'm a human and they should see that by now. But alas, you still have to answer it even if you're wanting to use it for non-nefarious things! Why do the Google Captcha Images keep fading when clicked on? How to prevent that?

Like just submitting a few URLS to Google submit form or using something else that requires the use of captcha. And I didn't even really want to be seen as someone that uses it that much that it's a problem for me. Well I don't, just every now and then.

But I'm just wondering if there's anyone else that experiences this same thing with it and whether you know a work around for it or a way to stop it doing that so that it doesn't fade the image when it's clicked on. How come it does that anyway?

I guess I should really ask this on the Google Product forums but thought I'd ask here first anyway just in case! Why do the Google Captcha Images keep fading when clicked on? How to prevent that?

Thanks!

Mike.

Hey, Mike! Yes, this is a known issue! Happens to me all the time when I'm fetching Google from Search Console. I'm administrating over 35 websites in my Search Console account and if I ever do more than a couple "Google Fetches" per day the captcha will get triggered and I'll have to solve all kind of puzzles.

The issues you are having usually comes up after multiple fetches and multiple solving of captcha. I think is some sort of additional security feature to prevent spam. I never refresh them manually, I just solve them until it doesn't refresh anymore and I can click the submit button.

I've actually never seen google captcha. Or do you mean any site that you click on that has captcha's. If this is the case I absolutely agree. Most captcha's are hard to read. I actually don't get that because they are supposed to be pretty straightforward. Its not supposed to be some kind of test , because all you want to do is access the website. I know its supposed to discourage bots but sometimes it discourages some of us.
