How to get Reddit upvotes on your Reddit posts?

Hello all. Reddit can be a powerhouse for traffic and rankings in many different ways. If you manage to get on the Reddit homepage (The front page of the Internet), well you better make sure that your server can handle that! You can get an insane amount of traffic if that happens and it stays there for a while!

What I'd like to ask is if anyone uses Reddit and how they go about getting upvotes on their Reddit posts? I know that best way to submit a link and all of that. And if it's unique and it's appealing to people then it will naturally get a lot of upvotes.

But there are also some Reddit upvote groups and communities on Facebook. Several on Google+ and several forums that do upvote4upvote and the like. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any of those forums that do that sort of thing? Any Internet Marketing forums perhaps that have Reddit Exchange or Reddit upvote threads that you know of?

Or is there some other way of getting upvotes on your Reddit posts that you know about and use that you would care to share with the community here and the rest of us that would like to know? How to get Reddit upvotes on your Reddit posts?

Thanks!

Mike.

I don't know about any exchange upvotes communities out there for Reddit. The best thing you can do from my perspective is to understand the board you are going to do the promotion on. Most boards on Reddit have their own internal "culture" and you need to speak and think like them before you do any type of promotion, otherwise, it will all backfire as Reddit users can be very aggressive once their figure out bullcrap or they think something's fishy.

Make sure whatever you are promoting can actual help the average user with some real value, even if it's just information, it needs to be valuable.

Thanks Cristian! Yeah it really pays to know the Reddit culture and not just the culture of Reddit but of the actual Subreddit you want to post in as well. That's the actual trick to it in posting sites that are usually posted with titles that are usually used. But those Reddit Exchange groups can be quite effective at getting your posts upvoted and getting you in the Hot section of that Subreddit or on the Reddit homepage and that can be a lot of fun when that happens! Mike I have found Reddit to be a pain in the ass. I got flame grilled there a few years back for being a "self promoter"...

Like who isn't a self promoter right? Just some people have been playing around there for ages, pretending not to be self promoters so that they have earned their right to self promote?

Anyway I don't like the way I was flame grilled there so I have this resentment thing going on. I also don't have time to spend building up my reputation there as a non self promoter so that I can then be a self promoter.

That said I have been trying to master Reddit in some way over the years. Usually by purchasing services here to get other people to share my content lol.

Anyway just two days ago I started getting lots of traffic from Lifehacker.com, Reddit and also Pinterest. Something is happening, I'm just not quite sure what it is... and I didn't do it LOL.

Oh Lynne thanks for sharing. I know what you're saying about getting flame grilled on Reddit! Some people actually use that site as a way of life and are really passionate about defending their "home on the Internet". There are many posts online by people who have been chewed out on Reddit for self-promoting their own site too much. And yeah you're right, that's a way to do it, gain peoples trust first before you submit anything of your own. And you really have to learn and understand the Reddit culture, but also of the actual Subreddit you're posting in as it has its own sub-culture so you need to know what goes down, what flies and what don't and to think like them and talk like them if you want your posts to stick and that. Some people are just dicks though lol and they live to do that and it's like it's the highlight of their day when they do lol. But that's great that you're getting something from it now and those other sites. I hope that you learn from what's happened and don't use it to hold you back and use the steam to power your dreams and make a good come from it. How to get Reddit upvotes on your Reddit posts?

But you must be getting traffic from them as your sites posts, links or something was shared on it by someone or used in some post or something by someone. Just look at the actual URL it's coming from and you'll see why. How to get Reddit upvotes on your Reddit posts?

Well you know the thing is that when I first arrived on Reddit I hadn't actually read through all the rules, seriously who really does read through all the TOS? I honestly had heard that it was a social network and you promote your links there... like posting a link on Facebook.

So I went in there as a complete newbie and the way that I was treated was just shocking. Yes I broke the rules but to swear at me and have such a go at me was not acceptable in any way. Anyway that is how I found out about Reddit being so ugly towards people that self promote.

Yes ban me for breaking the rules but to attack? Nasty nasty. The thing is that there are a lot of dicks there so I don't really want to make a place like that my "home" when you know there are all these dicks just waiting for you to put a foot wrong so they can rip you apart.

I would rather just focus on my own content and know that if I create really good content it will be shared!

Ah yeah no that's not on. Just call someone out let a mod deal with it and move on that's it. But don't let it effect you and you can use it as a learning curve and a reason to bring them down, from the inside. And yeah, that's a very good point and the best way to think about it!
