What to do about an incomplete order?

Some buyers make a purchase and then leave an order incomplete so that it never gets started.

I have tried to contact the buyer to tell him how to start the order but to no use.

What's to be done when a buyer makes a purchase but refuses to give the information required to start an incomplete order?

If you have an incomplete order, there is a script siteside that will email the buyer everyday until they respond to the order. If they fail to respond to the order in a couple of days you could message the buyer. However, if that doesn't work you can contact support to cancel the order.

Some sellers don't mind incomplete orders, and let them linger on their sales dashboard until the buyer is ready to submit the service requirements. I wouldn't necessarily bother a seller that has an incomplete order because usually, most of the time, they will respond to the order and it'll get started. So if you let it linger than is one sale more than you would've had, other than getting the incomplete order canceled.

It is weakness side for seller , i suggest if you face this problem, try to contact support by emailing them, it is good enough to solve your problem right?

I have had a couple of un-started orders that lingered in my dashboard for months. I decided to let them sit but I would send a communication every week to follow up as a reminder. Eventually all the order got started. Customers get busy, forget, put it off for later or don't see the communication because it ended up in a spam folder. There are many reasons that customer may have for not starting an order but personally I am willing to wait until the customer is ready. The only downside is if you have a bunch of un-started orders your dashboard may seem cluttered. Another potential issue is if everyone starts their orders at the same time it could make you late on delivery due to the increased and sudden work load.

I can't understand how people forget about their orders like that. I am always keen to get my orders completed quickly. I don't push or anything but I am always ready to add my info and I wait eagerly for the day my orders are ready.

It is weird because the buyer has paid for it, I would assume they would take notice of all the emails and notifications.

Hi sanfora thanks for your question. This is very common issue that many buyer do not know how to update order after purchase. And most of the may thinking he may purchase order then it will start very soon. Or he forget to update all require information, which essential to start order. Or, may think order purchased now but update later. But ultimately forget to update further. If so, or other some reason, I just try to message immediately to buyer inbox, and try to notice him, he has a pending order. If he does not update order, order never be start or progress. I got many response by buyer and tell me thanks for letting him know and he update order. And SEOclerks also send message everyday to existing email for pending notification.

I think no other way to inform buyer about pending order issue. You can continue send him message at least 1 times in a day.

I think I also had a couple of orders like that. Had one that the buyer started months after the order was placed. I tried contacting him and everything, no response.
Guess he forgot everything about SC and then eventually find his way back only to find he has a started order. I actually ended up in delivering everything and gained a positive review. lol
