Are you brand loyal when it comes to products?

So I posted the discussion about what brand laptop do you buy and it seems most people have a favorite... I'm just wondering how you buy all your other electronic goods and whether you are brand loyal or not?

For example when I buy large household appliances like a fridge, oven, washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher I will only ever buy Defy. I don't care what else is available or the prices. I trust Defy, I have always bought Defy and I always will.

If it comes to other electronics like a TV, DVD Machine etc I usually buy Sony. It is mostly just a preference and I might be convinced to buy something else.

Laptops, well I already said I am a Dell person Are you brand loyal when it comes to products?

With phones I currently have a Samsung and I am quite happy. I don't think I am stuck on Samsung brand loyalty though... I would consider an iPhone, Nokia and maybe other brands too.

No, not really. It's all about the actual functionalities and the number of professional positive reviews for me. I have an LG mobile phone, a Samsung laptop. I don't always buy what I think its best, I also look at the price since I'm not a billionaire. Are you brand loyal when it comes to products?

Hi Cristian Are you brand loyal when it comes to products? Are there some brands that you stay away from for any reason?

Well, nothing particular except Apple, had both an iphone and I have a Mac at work with which I'm stuck. Hate them both with a vengeance.

Which I'm stuck? What do you mean stuck? Stuck with the products? I think it's cool that your work has Apple products.

Like I want a damn laptop with windows but I have to use the Mac. I'm just not that productive with the Mac. Can get work done way faster using windows. I made a request to management for a laptop/desktop replacement.

How come they never gave you an option of what type of laptop you wanted?

Oh that is interesting! Most people rave about Apple! I've never had Apple... so I wouldn't know.

I do not consider myself to be that loyal actually. I tend to focus more on the price and obviously before buying I make some research so as to see what other people had to say about the product. Reviews are a very good way to judge a product's performance and the level of satisfaction other users seem to get. I guess I must have tried most brands when it comes to electronic products. I had my share of ups and downs too. For instance I was really happy with an LG tv, and so when I needed to buy another tv for another room I opted for an LG but it turned out to be defective after a few months. So I guess that's it for LG for me.

I suppose every brand will have a defective product here and there....

Take my first Dell laptop, I bought one that was close to top of the range about 5 years ago and within a few weeks I was having problems with the screen.... BUT I called them up and within 24 hours a technician had come to me (in an out of the way area) and replaced my screen with minimal fuss and inconvenience.

If I had to take it in and be without my laptop for a little while I would never have bought another Dell again, but because they sorted out the defect like that I purchased another Dell laptop after that.

Yes I think I am mostly brand loyal with an open mind, except when it comes to my Defy oven, fridge, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. I am then as close minded as they come. The only range is the Defy range LOL

Hmm... Well, for monitors I always go with BenQ. I've never had a better monitor than the one I have today.

Mouse = SteelSeries. I would never buy something else! (I have a SteelSeries Rival 300 Black right now).
Mobile Phone = Sony Xperia. I've never owned an iphone and I never will. I hate that thing!

When it comes to graphics card and such things, I go with MSI Gaming. Mainly because they ROCK but it's not THAT important so I could change that. The others I've stated stays! Are you brand loyal when it comes to products?

This is a good follow up question. Well, I don’t really have specific preferences when it comes other household appliances. I normally look at the different brands and choose the best offer which provides everything I want. I also look at reviews and make sure that there is a high satisfaction rate before buying it. I like to try multiple brands when it comes to household appliances because I also want to see what other brands offer. For example, I previously had a Goodmans TV but I replaced it with a Samsung TV as I thought that specific TV was very good in terms of features and price.

Yeah I've heard that the Samsung TV's are incredible, especially the Samsung Bravia... my hubby has his eye on one of those.

Yes I am brand loyal. I can't trust each and every brand available on the market. I tried to switch to other brands but things didn't seem to work for me. I think it is also due to habit. For example if we are used to Apple phones then it can be quite difficult to switch to android phones. I also trust the products from some brands more as they are more durable.

I’d say that I am not really being loyal with some brands that I buy. It is more of a habit than loyalty. Take the case of toothpaste and detergent. I am used to buying my brand regardless if there is a promo of the competing brand. And it’s just because of habit. That’s the same in watching tv, it’s not much of the program but the habit of tuning in to that channel. That’s why marketing specialists are focusing on the forming of habits because once a person gets the habit to buy your product then they will be repeat customers for a long time.
