What's your favorite computer OS?

I like Vista, though some people say Windows 7 is best. I have not tried Windows 7 but will most likely get a chance when i buy a new computer. I might download and use the beta version of Windows 8 on my new computer.

I used XP for a very long time, but it seemed very slow and laggy once I got a chance to use Windows Vista. Now I would never go back.

I like Mac OS X. Can't beat it and the hardware it comes with is incomparable.

I have to agree that Mac is one of a kind and it can be considered the best OS because of the speed and the convenience of the user. As they say the Mac is the real deal in terms of being user-friendly because indeed it is very friendly to the user unlike the Windows that has technical details. But in fairness to the Windows OS the user has the capability to dig deep inside the computer like the CMOS and the hard disk labels.

I've always preferred Linux and then Windows but I recently just purchased the new Macbook Pro Retina. What I'm slowly becoming a Mac OS Fanboy.

A friend of mine said that Windows 8 is really lousy. And, I'm not sure if that's true as I haven't tried it. There were very generous upgrade offers on Windows 8 that made it easy to try, but my computer is not capable of running it as it's older technology. If I get a new computer soon, it will have Windows 8 by default. Personally, I think Windows 8 will be so much better than Windows XP which is what I'm using now.

I too have heard that windows 8 is not good at all. I do not think that I will ever try it out myself.

I,m same as you, I went through some frustrating pain adjusting from Windows machines to OS but well worth it in the end, the Macbook Pro with retina display is how a computer should be.

My only regret is I should have switched over to Mac a long time ago.

I don’t know if I can consider Windows XP my favorite operating system but maybe we can say it is because our old desktop at home is still running on Windows XP despite the free offers of upgrades. About 2 years ago, I was gifted with a licensed Windows 7 installer and we upgraded the OS of our desktop. But some old programs did not run properly so we reverted to the XP again. Until now, it is still running okay and Windows XP is still of good service to us.
