My webmaster insists that I give him the login for everything including hosting and domains so he can maintain that. I feel hesitant. Is this necessary?

Sharing any login information with a stranger is always a big risk. Even if you think you know that person they might have ulterior motives and wait until opportunity presents itself to steal something very valuable such as a domain.
