Please tell me guys does domain name matters in SEO or not? As I am going to buy a new domain name and for this I am so conscious about choosing the domain name for my site? So some one please define the importance of domain name in SEO in detail?
Yes it can do, although less emphasis has been put on EMD's now (Exact Match Domains) and they're not quite as easy to rank with as they was before all the latest Google updates. But having a keyword friendly domain can tell people what your site is about from just the domain name itself. It can also provide a ranking boost sometimes small, sometimes big by the keywords within the domain. But with the right off-page SEO, you can get any domain name ranking for anything pretty much. But a good domain name can help build reputation for your business as well. Choosing something like buybestbacklinksonline.com isn't as good as domain that has a bit more personality behind like it backlinkhub.com or something like that if you see what I mean.

Pardon me if my opinion is contrary to what you said. I know that you are an authority on the subject and I am only a learner. However I cannot find the logic that there will be an SEO advantage for a domain name. If that is the case then that advantage will be forever and it is like saying your name is bad so you cannot get on top unless you change your name. I don’t think that is part of the search engine’s algorithm not Google and not even Bing or Yahoo. The domain name is only used to identify the site.
Sure it matters. Make sure your domain name explains exactly what the websites is about and having main keywords in the name is always a plus, especially when it comes to getting ranked on those keywords.
You can`t do SEO to a funny domain not related to your product.
Domain can play really important role when it have your main Keywords in its Beginning.
I guess the domain name plays a vital role when it comes to SEO. Search engines are not people with bias or prejudice on the sound of the names but a long and complicated domain name may be at a disadvantage with search engines. I think a simple domain name and a short one will be the best regarding the SEO capability of the website because search engines prefer short names for checking.
