The typical Pinterest user is female, though some men like the site too (as users, not just internet marketers). And, that could be significant to know, especially if you represent a product that appeals to women.

Its very difficult to occupy the place of facebook. I thought twitter will be in second place.

With over 850 million users, Facebook is the largest social networking site. But, you have to keep in mind, not all accounts are active and some people hold multiple accounts.

Another thought, is Bebo still around? I've only used that site a few times, nothing more than customizing my home page. But it didn't really give me any significant traffic even when i posted links there.

Among these 10 social media sites, I am on facebook, Twitter and Linked In. The list needs an update. Most of these social networking sites have already been replaced. Today, Instagram and Pinterest are more popular than hi5 or Myspace.

I have seen one chart that shows the amount of users of social networks. Facebook takes more than half of the pie chart followed by Twitter then Instagram. I think Myspace and LinkedIn are both occupying a quite small area. I guess this is the era of Facebook and it is futile to resist. That’s why I am content in having a Facebook account and I feel that I don’t need a Twitter account or any account in other social networking sites. Facebook is the number 1 for now and I’m sticking with it for my convenience.

It's almost 2019 and Facebook is still number one. It's my preferred social media, messaging and now video sharing platform. In my book it's giving YouTube a run for its money. When it comes to business and profession, linked in is still very useful.
