Twitter says it's shutting down bulk follower market

Back in the spring there was a big purge as Twitter did a pilot program of buying bulk accounts, put a classifier on registration to match those accounts, and making them DOA. Twitter says it has continued that program, drying up the market. Is that true? I am a reporter, but am happy to talk off the record.

I have not heard anything like this. Where did you get your info from ? Was it from a credible source?

Actually, the source was Twitter, and dealers say it is not at all credible. I'm trying to find out what the market thinks. Can you help?

I know nothing of this but that is odd that Twitter says it but the dealers say no. Wonder what the outcome will be?

I'm sure Twitter only wants legitimate accounts to be used, not accounts which are set up to bulk follow other accounts. However they do it, I'm sure Twitter has skillful ways of cutting into the bulk follower market.
