I don't mind a few funny memes on Facebook, but they can be distracting in a bad way. It's one thing to indulge in an occasional meme, but so easy to get distracted in random browsing of funny meme Facebook pages. Then it gets in the way of work.

I'd much rather see an infographic on a Facebook post than a funny meme. A good infographic illustrates information in a much better way than a text post as it includes both illustration/photos and text.

From a business point of view, it helps to do both. People like to get their quality information on posts, that's why they are fans to your page right?. But in order to keep customers, or peek their interests, something interesting or funny help keep their attention and can lead to them viewing your page longer.

I am not a funny person and my posts are mostly conservative and formal. But my husband is one creative person who always posts something humorous. His posts normally gets a hundred likes from his friends and sometimes the comments exceed 50. But when his post is serious, the likes are markedly diminished and sometimes there’s nary a comment. Obviously, people enjoy a funny post that I find most of them looking for something positive on their timeline.
