    What if Facebook had never been invented?

    Which social networking site would you be using now? Or, how would your life be? I don't think I would be very happy without Facebook, so I can't imagine a world without Facebook.

    Maybe Google + would be more popular if Facebook had never been invented. It's not really a duplicate site of Facebook and offers many unique advantages. So that's one possibility for alternatives to Facebook.

    Nothing can be said, there would be other social networking sites, they are still there but they are less popular to Facebook.

    Maybe Google + would be more popular if Facebook had never been invented. It's not really a duplicate site of Facebook and offers many unique advantages. So that's one possibility for alternatives to Facebook.


    I don't think that is a valid reason. I mean orkut and myspace were popular, then how do you thin facebook overtook them ?

    Maybe Facebook just appealed to a younger audience at the time (considering how only college students could register initially) and now it still has many younger members. Myspace was the place for teens before, now they all seem to be on Facebook.

    Google+ seems very popular with gamers, techies and SEO gurus. Maybe it's more of a site for niche subjects, rather than generic socialization.

    Which social networking site would you be using now? Or, how would your life be? I don't think I would be very happy without Facebook, so I can't imagine a world without Facebook.



    I'm not really huge into the socializing features of Facebook and prefer forums more for communicating with others and learning new ideas. So I guess I would just be on forums, (assuming Facebook had never been invented), posting and talking to others about things that interest me.

    If you remember Friendster where the connection is just about the profile, it has no posts and no timeline like what Facebook has now. The only activity that is available to the users is the friend request. You can show how many friends you are and it’s just that. If there is no Facebook then we would be content with the simple design of Friendster’s network.
