SEO is not related to social networking. It's been proven time and again that Google reads social signals and even no follow links from Twitter and Facebook are considered relevant for ranking purposes. Google sees these links and counts them as they are coming from an authoritative site.

I have come across one discussion with the subject that says SEO is dead which means there is no sense in doing SEO work because it has no more effect. I wonder how that impression came to be when it is very clear that SEO is for the traffic obtained from search engines. It cannot be denied that when your website is included in the search list and in the top position, the searcher has the tendency to click on the backlink of your website. And that is traffic for you. As long as the search engines are alive then SEO will be alive as well.
