Landing page optimization (LPO) is one part of a broader Internet marketing process called conversion optimization, or conversion rate optimization (CRO), with the goal of improving the percentage of visitors to the website that become sales leads and customers. A landing page is a webpage that is displayed when a potential customer clicks an advertisement or a search engine result link.

Landing page is just what it sounds like: it’s the page your website visitors arrive at after clicking on a link. It could be your home page, or any other page in your site.

From what I understand in my reading on this site, landing page is the web page in the link that you have posted in another site. For example, you posted about a particular blog of yours in social media. That blog is not the home page of your website. When a reader of the post in social media clicks on the link that you included, the user will be directed to that blog which is in the inner pages of your website. That page should be optimized in terms of keywords and probably layout specifically for proper navigation.
