    What are some tips to write an effective press release for release over numerous sites so that the content does not suffer some type of duplicate content? Or, is it even smart to put out a press release?

    A press release is not really necessary for SEO now and should only be used if you want to spread the word about your site or product to a local online community.

    Press releases can still be very effective, but not if copied and distributed massively over the internet. These copied pages will not rank well (assuming that's what you are trying to do).

    It might not matter if the pages have duplicate content or not. It's not like you are trying to rank the press release pages high, just get the backlink.
