Penguin #2.0

hi,
I was offline for a while, I am back with the fresh news(not so fresh) but yet for those who haven't been familiar with these:
Google recently launched the new generation of Penguin i.e, penguin 2.0 which is more complex and better way of tackling link spam according to the Google web spam head Matt Cutts
Check the link for more update on Penguin 2.0

Yeah, it was posted somewhere on here already. Seems like google screwed this one up big time. A week later and I still see spam and crap sites in the top 10. Authority sites ranked low.

I guess google screwed it wantedly ! I mean it can be because of the sponsors of google. We (I and my blog team) have been observing that google is getting biased towards some sites. :|

Yeah, I have noticed that Blogger and Youtube rank higher and those that have million dollar adwords campaigns (amazon). I guess you can pay to rank now.

But Amazon could be considered an authority shopping site. Millions of sites link back to them with affiliate links. Not all those links are no follow either.

You can’t do without. SERPs are now so influenced in Google by the amount of web content you publish and write, that website content is probably one of the most, if not THE most, important ranking factor.

What if you have no new content? Like a store with only a small set of items?

That kind of makes sense though with Youtube and Blogger being ranked higher. Both those sites see an intense amount of new content being published daily. And, new content is always favored. But also on the unfair side, Blogger and Youtube are owned by Google, right? So it seems they are playing favorites. However, from another point of view, maybe Google only tweaked those sites to conform with their newest update so it would automatically rank higher upon Penguin 2.0 release, rather than skewing the update to favor their own products. What do you think?

So, according to you amazon should be ranked better, right ? But the point which robert was trying to make is that amazon isn't ranked well when compared to some blogs/sites :|
