A few years back Facebook had a dofollow link...

....this link was obtained by adding a html tab on you business or organization page. In January I added that and added a tab thanking everyone for their support with a backlink explain what I was going to do. Months later, I still do not see that in any backlink checker tools, does FB flag that tab as noindex?

Every link from Facebook is no follow now, so not useful for your link juice but good for your link profile.

Yes it was done to make SEO and other people get attracted. Now that they don't have to do that. I am sure you can see facebook being not much valuable for SEO. But people are making money through other ways in such case. I think I have seen what can be done in that case. Dofollow definitely helped a lot. I think some of the time dofollow has it's place but these days I don't think it matters much.

Oh well, that simply means that Facebook had blocked any attempt to make it a do-follow link which makes Facebook a totally no-follow site. I guess Facebook has its own idiosyncrasy that it doesn’t want to be used for the advantage of those doing SEO work. Maybe Facebook wants to remain a social media network only and not a stepping stone for SEO methods.
